Marmot Trestles 0 Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Spirafil - 2008 BCS

Great sleeping bag!! This thing really keeps you warm, i had to shed layers!! awesome for cold weather i highly recommend and for the price you cant go wrong!!!

I have taken this bag out twice, once in my backyard when temperatures dipped in the low 30's and once up in the mountains. The first time I slept out under the stars and loved the fact that I slept like a baby. no chills or cold spots. The second time I slept in a Trango 2 with my two year old son and we zipped both our trestles (L and R zip) together and were very warm the entire night. Are there better sleeping bags out there? Sure. But for the money at approximately one sixth or fifth the cost of other high tech sleeping bags the trestle is legit. I have not taken it out in super cold weather, (below 20 degrees) and I wonder how it will perform, but at around 30 degrees it is awesome. Bottom line, the trestle packs small, is lightweight and toasty, toasty warm. I am happy with my purchase and am so glad I bought it from this site. I will definitely buy from these guys again.

Erroneous, Jon. It's not huge, but it's also not small. You just need a better stuff sack, hombre. I carry mine with on backpacking trips and it fits just fine in the sleeping bag compartment. In fact, there's always extra room no matter what pack I use.

It's extremely comfortable and the neck-draft-dodger thing is super warm/cozy/comfortable. This bag rocks.

I bought this bag for a recent trip down to Patagonia. It's heavy, which I expected from a synthetic at this price range. But it's hard to overstate how bulky this thing is. Maybe it was my bag, but this was a real pain to pack. However, for the price, you can excuse that. What I can't excuse is the dishonesty in the temperature rating. I consider myself about an average sleeper in terms of warmth, but in the teens/twenties, I was wearing almost all of my layers in order to get through the night. I wouldn't dream of taking this into single digits. Save yourself undue frustration and fork over some extra bucks for a better quality bag.

I've used this for car camping in my Van and haven't had a cold night yet, even with a couple below 0. I'm 6'1 200 and the bag fits a little small but overall pretty good. Also It's not to hard to get it in the stuff sac but I wish it we're a little bigger.

For everyone wondering, i can get the regular size bag to compress down to 12" with a 9" diameter in the sack provided.

I am a very cold sleeper and this bag is Toasty. It is pretty bulky, but that just makes it extra comfortable to sleep in. The zipper snags bad if your not careful. At this price for a 0-degree bag it was easy to overlook a little inconvenience. It also has a little zippered pocket close to your face on the inside which easily fits a recently recalled 1 pound can of spaghettios with room for a clif bar or two.

This bag is toastier than any other I've been in, which is definitely perfect for those winter car-camping nights--that being said, it's not something I could strap onto my backpack. The bag is huge, it hardly fits in the stuff sack, but it's perfect if you're looking for a quality beast of a bag and you're not conserving space. Quality.

Used this bag camping out in Mammoth Lakes, California during a ski trip. It dipped well into the 20s every night. I had to laugh when everybody complained about how cold they were in there bags/flannels/thermals/etc. I slept in shorts and a tee-shirt! I am 6'1 and this bag fit perfect. I would definitely recommend it!

I bought three of these for my kids. They love them!! We have camped in 20 degree weather and they performed with great. The only issue is they take a few minutes to fit them completely in the stuff sack but even that is minor. For the price, these bags are stellar in performance. Highly recommend them.

Spent last January in the back of a truck in Colorado and Wyoming. We saw temps hit -34 a couple of nights and I was still somewhat warm in this bag. The hard part was getting out to start the truck! But the bag will keep you toasty easily down to 0 degrees and then some. I'm very satisfied with this product.

I picked this bag up for $87 on Backcountry. I have only got to use the bag once, but am very pleased. One downfall is that when you finally get it in the stuffsack it is rather cumbersome to fit in your pack. Overall, I can't wait to hike into the winter evening knowing I will be sleeping in this awesome bag.

I've taken this bag out for some spring camping in Montana. The 0 degree rating is very real; I sleep warm and I have had to sleep with it partially unzipped. It's heavier and bulkier than an equivalent down bag, but it packs reasonably small in the included stuff sack. I had a little trouble wedging it into the sleeping bag compartment of my pack. It just barely fit. The DWR seems real enough to keep any condensation or moisture from penetrating into the insulation. It's a great bag for the price.

This baby is warm! Im 6'3'' 280 and it fits like a glove. The spirafil gives the bag such a nice cozy loft. The only potential downside could be the zipper. But for the price you cant go wrong!

Bought this on sale for a last minute snowshoeing trip to Bryce Canyon, UT. Got down to -6 F the first night and I was toasty warm. Second night was -4 F with the same comfort level. I've also carried this in the bottom of my backpack (sometimes a b*tch to get it in there) on numerous other trips, although it is bulky. But hey, what did you expect from a synthetic fill bag?
My advice would be to just get a good compression sack along with this bag....
Two other details:
1. Mine is a year old and has a small draft tube.
2. Mine has a full length zipper on one side and a 1/4-1/3 zip on the other side, a great detail that makes it easier to drink hot cocoa while still inside.
All in all, it's a bag that allows you to flip Santa the bird and go on that Christmas backpacking trip you've been wanting to take...

But no Joke, this is a great bag and i definitely believe the 0 degree, even though it only dropped to low 30's when i used it but i couldn't be more comfortable.

I love this sleeping bag. Im not a backpacker so it gets plenty small to throw in the Jeep. I was actually suprised at how small it gets, much better than my previous bags. We just went camping and got snowed/hailed and rained on the first night. Temps were around 20 and I stayed very warm. My wife has a 20 degree bag and froze. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone. Especially my wife.

This is a good bag. Kept me warm while in a snowcave with only a Z rest. Good value.

This bag is probably warm but it is huge!!! If you are looking for something to fit inside your pack, go with the down 0 degree never summer or something else. My never summer 0 degree gets to 1/3 the size this one does and i couldn't be happier. If you car camp, save your money but if you do any mountainerring or backpacking in cold weather, go small and go down. spend the extra money and be happy with your new bag!!

I used this bag in 30 degree weather and was super warm all night. The only negative is how heavy and bulky it is in the stuff sack, but if you're car camping and want to be cozy without spending a ton of money this is the perfect bag.
