Marmot created the Men's Transit Jacket to allow you to fly nearly anywhere and have the ideal coat when you step off the plane. This versatile jacket keeps you protected from rain with a fully seam-taped, waterproof breathable Membrain shell. The hood zips off or rolls into the collar for easy storage. An internal pocket holds an airline ticket, so you don't have to worry about losing it between security and the terminal. This Marmot jacket also has a long 31-inch length (size medium) for extra coverage, whether you hail a cab in the rain or take the Transit Jacket on a hiking trip.

Bottom Line: Be prepared for the weather wherever your plane lands thanks to the Marmot Transit Jacket.

Great Jacket.

I picked this jacket up off SAC for what I believe to be a steal of a price at $89 since it normally retails at $200.

Believe me, this jacket IS worth full price, I just got lucky.

I'm about 6'1-6'2 and approx. 180lbs and the Size Medium fits perfect. Being taller I was worried about the length and almost bought the Large but I'm glad I didn't. It's the perfect length for me, not too short not too tall.

The first day I got it we happened to have massive downfall so I got to test it out instantly. The fully taped seams really keep the water out, it just beads right off the MemBrain material.

It's extremely comfortable, no matter the weather. If its really cold outside you should consider a base layer of some sort, but in my area that's rarely necessary.

I have a comparable (Yet much more expensive) TNF soft shell and this jacket has every single feature that it has, minus the powderskirt, which is a non issue for me, really.

It doesn't have much lining, so it's perfect for those warmer days when you just need to stay dry, yet at the same time it's very breathable, but still keeps you modestly warm.

Not a super light weight, but not too heavy either. It's really a perfect compromise for the way I'll use it. The only complaint I have, however insignificant, is the hood. I have a big head, but it's still huge. Which is great for people wearing a helmet underneath, I don't, but it's really not much of a problem.

Don't hesitate to pick it up, it's an excellent jacket.

Hi there, I just bought this jacket through your outlet store,

Hi there,
I just bought this jacket through your outlet store, departmentofgoods.com, even though I saw the product here at Back Country first. They're exactly the same price, which isn't an issue, but what concerns me is that you have a different returns policy for the two stores. DOG (http://www.departmentofgoods.com/sales/help/36/Return-Policy-and-Procedures.html) only has a 30 day unconditional guarantee, whereas BC (http://sales.liveperson.net/hc/s-9551721/cmd/kbresource/kb-3458489844944706710/view_question!PAGETYPE?VisitorProfile=BCS&sf=101133&documentid=239621&action=view) has an unlimited returns policy. If I'd bought the jacket from the DOG store at a reduced/discounted price to that offered by BC then I could understand the difference in returns policy, but think it's especially unfair if the policy is different regardless of the fact that I paid the same price for the item. Can you please explain and/or justify this for me? Thanks.

This isn't an answer - just an extension of my question...
The reason I'm so upset by this is because I live in Australia and am buying the jacket as a gift for my boyfriend - who knows when it will rain next and he'll get to test it out? Probably not in the next 30 days! Not to mention that by the time it gets shipped over here that's probably half of my 30 days gone already!
Obviously if I'd realised this sooner I would have made the purchase through Back Country rather than Department Of Goods, but it's too late for that now. I was really impressed with both the BC and DOG online stores up until I noticed this discrepancy and now I am distressed, annoyed, and unhappy. Any clarification on this issue would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Nice Jacket with some suggestions

This Jacket is pretty awesome overall. The zipper is a bit hard to get latched to start but mine could be defective(not enough to send back). The material on the lining around the neck part is also something to improve upon. I have a beard and the material likes to grab hair and doesn't clean easily. Other than that the jacket is what I wanted. Waterproof and warm, and the hood is huge! Great product!

Good Jacket

By:
December 15, 2008

I go this Jacket for life in Seattle, Wa. wet and cool. so far i like it. it's long enough to wear over a suit, it's does it's job at keeping you dry, and it's fairly good at holding heat. i do feel the inside pockets feel flimsy, and don't have a durable weight to them. The jacket is lightweight, if you are looking for a jacket that is super lightwieght like the precip, this is not it. over all.... a good jacket.

Geat Jacket

I bought this jacket for city use and I like it a lot. The fit is great (6' tall; 220). When it's cold I wear the Marmot Radiator fleece jacket underneath. I have both jackets in tempest and they look like they were made for each other. Overall, I give this jacket a near perfect rating. My only concern is with the long-term durability of my stubble versus the soft material on the inside of the collar. Otherwise, the soft material feels great.
