Description

Ready when you need it.

Anyone who has ventured to the top of the Continental Divide in summer or the coast in spring knows that, even though the sun and air are warm, winds can make that nice weather feel unseasonable. That's why those same people trust the Marmot Men's Trail Wind Hooded Jacket and keep it stashed in a pack, luggage, or vehicle. Ultralight, DWR-coated polyester blocks wind and sheds light precipitation while Marmot's Angle Wing Movement design keeps your photo-poses comfortable whether you're on top of a peak or on a rocky shore.

Great windbreaker

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

What a great jacket and it lives up to it's standards. Took it up to the UP in Michigan this past summer and loved it. Sadly, on a biking excursion, I took a dive and popped a hole in the elbow, but the rest of the jacket still looks great. Great fit, folds up to nothing, and a good price. Love it!

Excellent for intended use

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I took this jacket with me up to a 12k peak summit, and it kept me nice and warm over my base layer Smartwool long-sleeved shirt. The ventilation kept me from sweating on the trek uphill. I pulled the hood up, cynched it down, and put my sunhat back on over it to withstand the biting cold and wind at the summit.
On the way down, it kept me warm until I unzipped once back down from tree line. I folded it back into its own pocket and stored in my backpack at my next break.
At 4 oz, it took over for my heavy hard shell on many trips.
I have taken this wind jacket with me on every hike and backpacking trip. It works wonderfully underneath my down vest. I even sleep in it on cold nights.
If you are looking for an inexpensive, multipurpose, sturdy yet lightweight wind jacket, buy this. Just don't expect it to keep you dry in a rain storm as it's not a rain jacket.

Nice enough

Great for traveling because it is so light weight. It does the job just wish it was water proof.
