Great Pants

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size
  • Size Bought: 38 Reg

These pants are comfortable and durable. I use them primarily for hiking but I have rock climbed in them and where them leisurely. They held up after a day of crawling and climbing around rock. They allowed plenty of freedom of movement and are no worse for the wear. Around town they are comfortable. I'll probably get another pair.

Some Kind of Waterproof Voodoo

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

I took these pants fishing today, and had to write up this review in response to their performance. I've tried it all, but these pants take the cake for warm weather moisture performance. Don't get me wrong, they aren't waterproof, but they handle water better than anything I have ever worn. Honestly, I soaked them up to the knee today, (trying to get in position for the perfect fly presentation), and when I stepped out of the water they were dry with beads of water on the surface of the fabric. It seemed more like magic than technology.

runs small, not what I wanted!!!

  • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
  • Fit:Runs small

These pants were ordered after I ordered a pair of mountain hardwear tpout pants that were stretchy and perfect. These were the closes thing in khaki. I believe these pants could be good, as I also ordered a pair of green north face traverse pants which don't get me started on. These ran small and I am not gonna go back and forth so I am ordering mountain hardwear topout. Save yourself some shipping if you order these order a size or two bigger. Oh backcountry has been awesome company to work with on returns, my business stays here, anywhere but liar and thief amazon.

great for all weather conditions

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I'm guide in SE Alaska over the summer. These pants are great to wear under heavey rain gear on cold days. They are also light enough to wear on the sunny days. They're comfortable on the skin, breathe well in damp condition and keep the wind off when there is a breeze. The Torrey are my go to pants for all my three season hiking. For what it's worth, they look pretty nice too. I'll be wearing these for CC skiing come spring. I'm 6'3, 195, and the 36 regular fit with a belt.

Nice pants but wrong sizing

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:Runs large

I ordered this pant from US for Kilimanjaro trek but sizing is not correct. I wear 35-36 inch waist and ordered Large which turned out to be bigger than 36 inches! I like the quality and finish of Marmot Torrey pant which is stretchy and suitable for long hikes. I live in Africa and I wish I could return this pant to back country to get right size.

Awesome pants

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

Used these for two weeks while hiking/camping in the deserts, caves, and mountains of the southwest and they performed great in every condition. I originally bought them mostly for the 40 UPF rating (which did a fantastic job protecting my legs from the desert sun) but found myself wearing them just about all the time. Comfortable, stretchy, pockets work great, fit is great, and they even still smell good, something I can't say for most of my other gear.

Great quality pants

  • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it

I thought the quality of these pants was pretty good. I'm 6'1" and 203# and I bought a size 36" waste. For the price I couldn't justify keeping these pants because they were a little too loose. I decided to return them. The slate grey color almost looked like casual dress pants, which I actually liked a lot. If you aren't on a budget I recommend them, but if money is tight I'd say you should wait to get them on sale.
