Marmot Supernova Fleece Jacket - Women's - 2006 BCS

I am incredibly pleased with the daily performance I've received from this fleece. It's definitely not meant to protect you from -30 degree weather, but it's heavy enough to wear in the 40-65 degree fall weather. It also fits my 5'9" frame perfectly--not too boxy and long enough for my arms. The only (small) downside is that the collar sticks up instead of laying against the fabric. It's not a large collar, so I quickly got used to it, but some people might be bothered.

I loved this jacket, it is thick and cozy and warm. It just didn't fit me right. The arms were not long enough for me. I would highly recommend this coat just not if you are 5'8" and need a longer sleeve.

The Marmot jacket is very thick poler fleece and will be great for winter. The sleeves are long for me - longer than on my previous marmot polartec.

The Supernova Fleece jacket is a very warm jacket which is also quite soft to the touch. The color of it - Rainwater- is quite an unusual and appealing shade, and it is one that is distinctly different that the usual offerings. If there is such a thing as an "exciting color," this is it! The tailoring also is excellent. The Supernova jacket is already one of my favorite jackets.

Whether used as an outside layer or a mid-layer, this jacket is very warm. In this Montana January, I wear it under my down jacket and it's great at
-20 deg.

This is an impeccable winter fleece. My only regret is that there is no hood. ONE WARNING, though: You may want to tow a mini mirror OUTSIDE (or use your car window reflection) to try it on. This 300-weight doesn't mess around! Also, FYI, the outside material has a wool-like finish; the inside is where you see the nubby stuff. I am hoping this means that it won't pill as easily as other fleece does. If you want to layer underneath, order one size larger than you normally do (especially if you're an XS).
