nice jacket but thinner than expected

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

great jacket for weather in the 50's i suppose but its quite thin. it's the first marmot brand product i've bought so im not sure how the sizing is. I got a small and im 5'9, 155 lbs with an athletic build.
quality of this jacket is very good, definitely keeps the water out, in fact the water literally rolls right off the jacket. Overall it was a pretty good jacket, easy to layer something over it because it was so thin but with the title "softshell" i was expecting something a bit thicker.

Nice jackets but ran large

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:Runs large

5ft8, 155 lbs, it ran a bit large for me in the shoulders and chest without any layering underneath. I think if you were to use this in winter and had on a few layers it would fill out nicely.

Overall the top is very sharp looking and well made. You could wear it golfing or out to dinner/a party, yet also break it out on a hike/climb/mountain bike. It's nice enough that I returned the medium for a small.

Light Weight and Fits Great

Im using this top for cold weather trail running, mountain biking, hiking, and XC ski days. It is very versitile, light-weight, warm, and blocks wind well. Additionally it is stretchy and comfortable to move in. I was pleasantly surprised with my overall satisfaction. I normally go full zip for this type of top but the 3/4 zip is just right on this...

Great when you need light and fast!

I purchased this softshell to use on spring and fall climbs that may get just a bit chilly and windy and I have been very pleased. The single layer material adds just enough protection from the elements and yet doesn't restrict any movement in the arms and shoulders. It's lack of bulk allows it to layer nicely under a harness and is hardly noticeable when it is crammed in a summit bag.

Though the M3 material stretches comfortably with body movement it is a little restrictive when you try to whip it off on the run. If you have light gloves or a beanie on you pretty much have to take all of those accessories before you can layer down.

I love the half zip front, hem draw cord, and the thumb loops because they allow you to cool down or warm up just a little bit with very little effort. Great jacket and I would recommend it to any climber.

Brought this on thru hike of Wonderland Trail. Very light and stretchy feeling. Just right for the cold snap to the morning. Preforms excellent. Great quality. Compacts quite well. Excellent. Definitely would order again.
