Marmot built the Streamline Jacket for female adventurers who like to take on the elements without taking a bunch of unnecessary extras. The fully taped seams and Marmot’s PreCip waterproof breathable fabric mean that when you’re caught at altitude in a downpour, you’ll stay comfortably dry.

  • Full visibility roll-up hood with peripheral cord adjustment helps you seal out the rain when you’re hunkered down on your favorite summit
  • Full DriClime interior lining keeps you dry while you find some hot chocolate
  • Angel Wing Movement allows full range of motion as you reach and stretch
  • Double Storm Flap over zipper with snap/ hook-and-loop enclosure adds a barrier between you and the chilly blasts of wind and rain
  • Elastic drawcord hem allows you to adjust to the most comfortable and weather-resistant fit possible

Bottom Line: Cut the unnecessary and bring on the weather with the Marmot Streamline Jacket.

It's not exactly heavy, but I wouldn't consider it light weight at 24 oz. It also depends on what you are using it for. If you are just looking for a simple rain jacket on a budget and like Marmot, then check out the PreCip which comes in at only 12 oz. If you are looking for something a little more durable but with a similar weight to the Marmot PreCip, then look into any Gore-Tex Paclite jacket. A Paclite jacket will likely be slightly lighter and more expensive than the PreCip, but it will be more durable as it utilizes a membrane on the interior surface. The PreCip uses a DWR coating on the exterior surface which can wear off over time.

Ani, this would work well for keeping you dry but it could get a little steamy wearing it over heavy down unless the temperatures are fairly cold. If you have a lightweight down sweater or fleece it would work well in slightly warmer temps.
