The Polartec Neo Shell fabric is highly waterproof and exceptionally breathable, so sweat won't be a problem when you're hiking, and Marmot also built in outer thigh vents to help you dump heat when the skintrack gets steamy. Moisture has a tendency to sneak in the smallest gaps, so Marmot covered all the seams with waterproof tape, finished all the pockets with water-resistant zippers, and topped the ankles off with stretchy boot gaiters to seal up all the potential soggy spots. Dual hook-and-loop tabs at the waist keep your trou from dropping of their own accord—it's hard to ski with pants around your ankles—and the Storm Queen's articulated knees let you bend, stretch, karate kick, and pow dance without getting stuck.
