When the skies darken, the thunder rumbles, and there’s no shelter in sight, pull on the Marmot Storm Front Jacket. Thanks to the waterproof breathable MemBrain shell fabric, you’ll stay dry and comfortable through Mother Nature’s worst. A front storm flap and an adjustable hood are there for you when the wind howls, and underarm PitZips help dump extra heat.
Bottom Line: Who needs shelter when you have this jacket?
Okay, I looked on Marmot.com and they have generic instructions for this:10. How do I roll my hood into a collar? To roll your hood into a collar take the visor portion of the hood and fold it under and under itself forming a collar (this takes a little patience to get a flat even roll). Then take the tab at the outside back of the neck and fold it over the newly formed collar. Put the tab through the loop on the inside back of the neck and attach it to itself. Viola!Does this make any sense to anyone? I love the jacket, but I'm going to have to return it if the hood won't roll.
Just roll the hood down (leaving the OUTSIDE OUT) until it is about collar length. See that velcro flap on the outside? See the coat-hanger hook on the inside? Loop the flap through the hook and velcro it down. Done!
I hope this wasn't "too little too late" and it helps someone! I use a marmot shell while motorcycling for excellent windbreaking and weather protection.
I just got this jacket and love it in all ways except one: as a tall person (5'11"), I find that the hood pulls a bit, as though it isn't tall enough from the shoulders to the crown. Granted, I have a very long neck, so for most people it should fit fine. But for those of you tall ladies out there - WOOT! WOOT! and/or those with long necks, the hood may tug a bit on the top of your head. Bummer.
Otherwise, I adore the cut of this jacket. Roomy (for layering underneath) without being unflattering, simple detailing that makes it stand out (the black has a deep red zipper, which I love), and the waterproof quality seems quite good. I haven't been outside in a downpour yet, but it has withstood a gentle rain for an hour with no problem.
Also, the arms are wonderfully long, which I love in a rain jacket. However, if you're wee in stature, the arms may be TOO long (practically covering your whole hand - on my long arms, the cuff hits at the knuckle), so check the measurements before buying.
I just got this jacket. I really like it, but kinda confused on how to roll the hood down. Does anyone understand how to roll the hood under? Are there instructions? You think it would be intuitive... Perhaps there are other Marmot jackets that are similar?

I bought the red one. It's a cool jacket. It works well in rainy days. In sunny days, the red color is also perfect. Well, the red color is really red, if you do not like that vibrant color, you can choose other colors.
I liked the sizing and the fit. The sleeves are a little longer then usual jackets and the jacket is fitted through the waist. It's great for riding my bike how from school in the rain. However, I took this jacket on a rainy backpacking trip recently and I was very disappointed with how quickly it let the water in. It seemed like the jacket was soaked through in a few hours. Plus, once the liner gets wet it sticks to you. I'm returning it. I expected more from a jacket named the "Storm Front."
I don't have this jacket, so I'm not 100%, but those are usually for rolling the hood down, so when you're not using it, it's not getting in your way. It usually rolls down and you can velcro it, so that it's more like part of your collar. If this isn't the case, then ask the question again and hopefully someone who has the jacket can give you a better answer.----------------That's not the case. Usually that's so that you can make the hood big to fit over a helmet for climbing and such, but still crank it down so it won't be way too big on your bare head.
Love the fit/cut of this jacket and breathability! It's really cute on!!
The lining of the jacket is a nylon material, however, there are two vertical mesh panels (in the liner) along the back which help with breathability. The two front pockets have velcro, and then the pockets are 'set in' slightly with zippers. Brilliant idea.
I'm not sure about that exact color, but I got the Wasabi/Chive color and it's a lot brighter in person!--------------------------------I have the Kashmir/Auburn jacket, and I love it! The color will depend on your computer monitor, at work the color is a perfect match, and at home the monitor has dulled it down some. So it really depends.
