There’s no need for a closet full of jackets—the Marmot Men’s Storm Front Jacket is a quiver-of-one shell for everything from ski touring to summer backpacking. Made with waterproof breathable MemBrain shell fabric, the Storm Front keeps out moisture no matter what form it takes. The streamlined design packs easily, and the paneled mesh lining layers easily on cold days. Marmot also added Angel Wing Movement to keep the jacket from riding up when planting a ski pole, hacking out ice tool placements, or reaching for the next handhold.

Bottom Line: A versatile, four-season shell for any backcountry pursuit.

You are on it Peter! While Membrain is not 100% "waterproof" it is still a great fabric to deal with the elements. I definitely would have no problem wearing it in the snow. If you want true "waterproof" go for GoreTex they are 100%.

Large fit. I got this jacket in Black XL today, and this is just an FYI that this jacket has a surprisingly large fit. I typically wear size XL shell (6'2" 190s). I was expecting this jacket to be standard fit and similar fit to the Marmot Tamarack, but this jacket is both longer and more baggy. If in doubt, I recommend going a size smaller or go with a more standard fit (and nicer) jacket like the Tamarack.

I'm the same dimensions and went with the large, and I still have room for layering.
