What could be better than socialized medicine and beautiful blonds everywhere the eyes wander? Add the Marmot Men's Stockholm Down Jacket and you've got your answer. Insulated with 650-fill goose down protected by a down proof nylon shell with a DWR coating, the Stockholm Jacket knows how to stay cozy in brutally cold weather.
Micro fleece internal cuffs for comfort and protection
Elastic draw cord hem for adjustability in serious weather
Exposed vision center zippers for stand easy use and a touch of style
Bottom Line: Built by people who understand the cold.
This is a super nice casual puffy for those cold nights out partying. It has a bit of a classier look than most down jackets so us bums can fit in better in Aspen. And then you can take it out shreding as well. The material is very comfortable and cozy, I like!

At 5'-6" and 150 lbs., a Medium fits perfectly with room for a base layer and a fleece underneath. This jacket is super warm though, so I don't need the extra layers unless the temperature dips below freezing. The fleece inner cuffs block cold air from entering through the sleeves, and eliminate the need to adjust your cuffs every time you put on gloves. The zippers are beefy and durable, easy to operate with heavy gloves on, but not waterproof. The removable hood makes the jacket versatile as both a backcountry outer layer and an around-town jacket. The water resistant finish works well, but this isn't a jacket to wear in the rain. It will keep your down from getting wet from snow melt, but not a downpour. The jacket is super lightweight, and packs down very well. It seems very well constructed, I don't feel like I have to baby the jacket to prevent tears or snags. That being said, the nylon is very lightweight and thin, and I would not venture through heavy brush or thorns with it out of fear of ripping it to shreds. I wish the jacket came with a stuff sack, or had a built-in stowaway pocket, since I had to supply my own. The interior pockets are very minimal, which doesn't add weight, but also doesn't add much function either.
I got the Vapor Blue jacket in XXL. The blue is very bright, but not over the top. I'm 6'1" tall and weigh 245lbs with a large frame. With my base layer, mid layer, and softshell, this fits the bill perfectly. The hood is HUGE! A little too big for my needs, but it's very workable. With my helmet, and my soft shell hood on, it's still a little large... But again, very doable. The material is thin, but not too thin. I only use this jacket for very cold summit days, or for base camp while snowshoeing in the high Sierra's. I really, really like the fleece internal cuffs. Super soft, and keep the cold air out. The pockets work well for all "normal" needed items. I've however, never used the sleeve pocket. The zipper is plastic, but runs very true, and I've never caught it on the fabric. Overall it's a good buy. The hood is a little big, and it's not a hard-er shell puffy. 4 stars it is. I got this jacket on SAC... Smokin' deal!
I have been looking for several months for a good down jacket/coat that included a removable hood to replace my old Patagonia fleece synchillas and have a somewhat lightweight but very warm coat to wear at camp when backpacking in cold weather. It does have DWR (water repellency) but is not considered windproof (I prefer a shell over the top). I am not a person that minds layering a shell over a down jacket to block the wind, but some people may not like that. The exterior material, although rip stop, does not look like it something I would want to run through a thicket or briar patch in, but appears to be durable. Some folks have had issue with the zippers having a metallic look but being plastic, not a problem to me. The jacket comes with an arm pocket (chap stick?) and two inside pockets that appear to be for a water bottle, electronics, phone or wallet. One of my favorite features is a layer of micro fleece lining near the wrists to dampen air flow. As far as I can tell it does not stuff down into itself, but I have plenty of small stuff sacks. The jacket does have a trash bag kind of look to it, but I think if you choose a good color it doesn't show as much. I initially bought eggplant and when it arrived it looked like Barney purple. I exchanged for cayenne and really like how it looks. I also started with a large and it felt good, but I am 5'-9" / 180 lbs and plan on having base layers and possibly another mid layer beneath so i went up to XL. I have friends with other Marmot jackets and this appears to run smaller. I am looking forward to some cozy days in camp (0- 15 degree temps). Finally was able to use this jacket in the backcountry. Temps got down to 25 degrees at camp and I stayed smoking hot. I was very pleased with it's performance. I will continue to update once I use it in some lower temps.
I returned this jacket. Fabric not rip stop, and 'metallic zippers' were plastic. Wrist fleece cuffs were a nice touch, but not enough. Jacket was more pretty than functional
