The mountain beckons—and since sixteen inches fell last night, you will definitely heed the call. The Marmot Women’s Sling Shot Down Jacket was made for cold, crisp bluebird days like this—650-fill goose down keeps you warm on exposed ridges, and the waterproof breathable MemBrain two-layer laminated nylon shell blocks penetration by moisture when you take a tumble in the deep stuff.
Zip-off storm hood includes a laminated brim for extra protection
Reinforced shoulders and elbows add some brawn to the shell where it needs it most
Elastic drawcord hem, zip-off powder skirt, and hook-and-loop tabs on the cuffs keep out drafts and snow invasions
Microfleece internal cuffs feel soft and warm against your wrists, and snuggle under the cuffs of your gloves
Waterproof zippers on outer pockets protect your pocket contents from seepage
Angel Wing Movement gussets ensure the jacket doesn’t ride up when you’re reaching for a pole plant
Bottom Line: Answer the call, but don't freeze in the process.
Very warm, excellent fit and great waterproof feature. This is one of the best fitted down jacket I have. It is tight fit but then it keeps me warm as there are no "empty" space inside. I got the ultra violet color and received lots of compliment. I am thinking of getting the black one as well.

Actually I changed my mind.. I don't like this new one at all. The arms were too short and it's over all a little short. I am normally a SM and that's what I got. Also, it's not close to being at warm as my other one. My friends also told me it looks cheap.. I don't know if it's because I didn't put the fur on it. I wore it from my work to my house on my snow mobile in high winds wich a shirt, base layer, a R2 Patagonia fleese and it was clear to me that it was not going to cut it. Darn! I like the hood tough!
I think this is the updated version that I got in 2007.
I live in Nunavut and use my winter gear starting October/November to April/May (that's more then half the year!) I am suprised that it lasted this long and I'm still using it this year. Though had to replace the zipper pull thingy's.
I just ordered this new one for which I am very excited about. Same blue color.. that's how much i love it!
I plan to use it for snowmobiling and all my outdoor activities. I walk to work which takes about 20 minutes downhill in -30C (-55C with windchill). I wear a thin shirt, a base layer, and an R2 Patagonia fleece and then this jacket on top. I sewed on a 4 inch thick wolf fur which I don't really know how I'm going to add it on this one because of the visor. I'll figure that out and possibly post a picture.
One of the downfalls of my 2007 version is that the down does not stay under the arms. When I wash it (which I do about 3-5 times per year) I put a tennis ball in the dryer to get the puff spread as evenly as possible but under the arms never really came back.
I cant imagine throwing out my 2007 and plan to make a seal skin parka and wear the old coat for mid-layer insulation to stay toasty out hunting! Don't want to get my new one too dirty!
According to Marmot's site, this is 650 fill down. We'll double check the specs and get our description corrected if need be. The center back length (measured from the base of the neck to the bottom of the hem) is 26.5" in size Medium. Typically a garment will get about 1" longer in length and sleeve length as you go up in size.
Bought this jacket for my wife and she absolutely loves it. I have always had a hard time finding her a jacket that will keep her warm enough during the winter. I think this jacket might finally do the trick, atleast she has no complaints so far. She gets compliments all the time about the look and style as well. Overall a great jacket
I tried this jacket on in a Medium which is what I am in most outdoor brands and in Marmot jackets that I have. When I put my arms straight out in front of me, the edge of the sleeve was a 2" to 3" from where my wrist meets my hand, not acceptable in my mind. My arms are maybe slightly longer than average, but I by no means have monkey arms. Otherwise this seems like a nice puffy for skiing, except for the fact that there are no pit zips.
Very warm, excellent fit and great waterproof feature. This is one of the best fitted down jacket I have. It is tight fit but then it keeps me warm as more...
