A light, warm gem in winter.
The Marmot Women's Safire Down Jacket shines when the temperatures start to get into that see-your-breath range, and it works well on its own or as a warm layer when nasty winter storms roll in. Whether you're frolicking in the frost-kissed world of snow ghosts and thigh-high powder drifts or weaving between snow-capped skyscrapers, the Safire will keep you warm.
The recycled polyester shell makes it easy for the Safire to be green, and the down insulation prevents you from being blue-lipped and frozen. Box baffle construction stabilizes 700-fill down so you don't get the cold shoulder from your jacket. The feathers are treated with Down Defender, an innovative coating that prevents dampness from being a downer on your party of warmth. When untreated down is exposed to moisture, the feathers fail to insulate. Now, a little spit of rain or moderately forceful flurries won't leave you shivering and wet.
Slim lines highlight your shape without turning you into Ms. Marshmallow of the decade. The trim silhouette makes it easy to slip a weatherproof hardshell over the Safire when forecasters call for white-out conditions and total snowfall above your head. The full-length zipper parks in a zipper garage to protect your chin from cold metal chafing, while the wind flap behind the front zipper keeps out chilly wind drafts. Elastic cuffs make it easy to push your sleeves up when late winter sun warms the world a bit more than you expected.

No Handwarmer Pockets? Really?
- Gender: Female
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: True to size
Bought this jacket to layer under a shell or wear on sidelines of kids soccer games in the winter (play year round in NC). Loved the color (Electric Blue/Purple), loved the fit, loved everything EXCEPT there are no hand warmer pockets! Really?! Held on to it for three weeks before returning, debating whether to keep it, but ended up sending it back because I knew that on the sidelines, I always love sticking my hands in my pockets and it would just be a constant frustration not to have them. I am 5'6" and 150 lbs and the L fit well. Could layer if necessary, but not so big I felt like a marshmallow. Wanted to keep it, but for the money, I really need the hand warmer pockets. Wish I had noticed the lack of pockets in the details before ordering, just didn't expect a jacket not to have them!
To cute but ...
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: Runs small
I love the Sea Glass , my mother got it for me for Christmas , but I had to send it back cause it fitted right but I need it a inch bigger , but it's beautiful I love it ????
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs large
Went one size down to fit my wife. She loves it. it's isn't super puffy or extra warm, it's a "sweater" - best for running around town - it's a nice form/athletic fit. The blue really pops. good color. great deal. you get more than what you pay for. I recommend.
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share
- Fit: True to size
This is a more lightly insulated down jacket than some others. It doesn't have the huge baffles that you'll see in other down jackets, so it layers nicely and looks good as an outer piece. I got this as a gift for someone and so far they seem to love it.
