Waiting out the weather never felt so good.

Trust the lofty, synthetic insulation inside the Marmot Rockaway 35 Sleeping Bag to keep you warm through those spring and early fall nights, even if soggy weather threatens to drench your tent. Synthetic sleeping bags offer a distinct advantage: even if they get wet, the insulation inside won't bunch up and become useless like down insulation. Marmot took this a step further with their unique dual-fiber insulation, a shell coated with water-resistant DWR, and clever insulation construction that maximizes the insulation value for comfort.
  • Lofty SpiraFil insulation combines hollow fibers and denser, solid synthetic fibers in order to offer a balance of warmth, softness and compressibility
  • Insulation fibers are thermally bonded so the insulation maintains its loft and shape longer, meaning more warmth and a better performing bag in the long run
  • DWR-coated shell material fends off light rain and moisture so your bag and insulation stay drier in inclement weather
  • Series of overlapping internal insulation shingles creates the Shingle Insulation Construction which allows for more efficient use of insulation so you stay warmer without needed additional insulation that would add weight
  • Easy to reach draw cords make adjustments easy when you're bundled up
  • Trapezoidal foot box matches the shape of your feet, wider in the toe area and narrower in the heel so you have more foot room and warmer feet
  • Zipper garages cover up the two-way sliders from the elements so they operate smoothly every time
  • Two hang loops make storage a cinch
  • Included stuff sack

Best $80 bag.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Used on two backpacking trips so far. First time was much colder than expected. Below freezing. My water froze. Had to sinch the hood shut. It kept me warm with thermals on. Very impressive. Second time was warmer and the bag was comfortable. It's a little heavy but it was 80 bucks. Great bag.

Great Sleeping Bag Comfortable and Warm

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I needed a replacement sleeping bag that would keep me warm and not break the bank. This sleeping bag did just that. Took this on a camping trip for a night to test it out and it kept me comfortable and warm all night where the night time temperature was somewhere between 40-50 degrees Fahrenheit wearing shorts and long sleeve shirt. I would've felt comfortable in colder temperature also. I'm a pretty slim guy and I had plenty of room to move inside when zippered shut, but it was contoured enough to keep in my body heat. This is perfect for those who feel overly constricted by the typical mummy style especially. Rolls up nicely in the compression sack still to the size of a sleeping back but just not as bulky to fit better in the car.. Not something you could throw in a backpack easily.

If you're a casual camper looking for a warm, but not in need of hardcore winter style sleeping bag that is very affordable, this is a great buy. Only thing I would like to see improved is to have a two sided zipper to more easily unzip from inside. I didn't find it to be too troublesome though.

This says the stuff size is 8.5 x 8.5......

This says the stuff size is 8.5 x 8.5... Is that a typo, or does this synthetic bag REALLY pack down half the length of some down bags?
