Resolution Ski Jacket - Men's

Marmot and extreme skier Doug Coombs paired up to make the Men's Resolution Ski Jacket one of the toughest, most versatile backcountry jackets around. High-performance features start with waterproof breathable Gore-Tex XCR material, which is reinforced across the shoulders to protect this ski shell from pack abrasion. The Resolution Jacket's high pit zips and removable hood ensure you don't overheat on the steep ascent, and the powder skirt keeps out the snow on the way down. This Marmot ski jacket also includes a Recco reflector to aid in-bounds avalanche searches should the unthinkable happen.

Bottom Line: Doug knows how to design a jacket, and Marmot knows how to build one. The result is the Resolution Ski Jacket.

Marmot has changed their sizing of jackets. My past jackets are one size larger that current technical ski jackets.

Marmot Resolution - the best features for me.

By:

I tried (inside at home, not yet on the hill) a number of jackets, and the Marmot Resolution is clearly, far and away the most practical for me. It's very well made, and it has very practical features. The two way front zipper (two sliders) is a great feature and should be available on all jackets. I like the very, very small use of Velcro, especially in the front. Other jackets of this type have a flap covering the zipper and use Velcro to keep the flap closed. I find that to be a royal pain, and I'm delighted that the outside zipper flap on the Resolution (there's also an inside zipper flap) stays closed without Velcro (except one at the collar when completely zipped up). Even the wrist closures use Velcro in a different way. The pockets are many, practical, and of good size. The only one I'd change is the sleeve pocket - I'd want it on the bicep rather that the forearm. Also, I'd brighten up the red color. Aside from those two things, it's PERFECT! I'll report again after I've actually used in on the mountain.

Great High Performance Shell

This coat strikes the perfect combination of fit, style and performance. If you can spend this much on a shell, you won't be disappointed.
