Description

Make life easy for yourself and dress your tyke in the PreCip when dark clouds ensue.

A wet bum equals a teary-eyed chilly kid, so dress him or her appropriately in the waterproof, breathable Marmot Kids' PreCip Pant. Its fully waterproof fabric and fully taped seams ensure your child's lower body stays dry and doesn't become soaked. Thanks to its elastic waist and ankle zips, the PreCip is extremely simple to get on and off, even without taking off bulky shoes first. When the clouds part and the sun comes out the PreCip easily packs down and fits into a small pocket or your kids backpack.

PreCip Pants for Kids worn by an adult

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I'm 5 feet (with my fingers crossed) and about 100 lbs (pre Thanksgiving) and fit into a large (My legs are short).
I've worn these pants a handful of times and find them very comfortable-- I can move freely and the pants are not constricting, even with a heavy base layer. The bottoms taper but have a zip-- I could not pull the pants over hiking boots but I can pull the pants over hiking shoes.
Oddly enough (it's December) it hasn't rained too much in Portland, OR but the times it has rained, these pants kept me dry and warm. They are more form fitting than most rain pants, giving these pants "style" points. There are two zippered pockets up front which might be handy for keys and such (haven't used the pockets).
So far, I am satisfied with this product-- about 5-10 wears, mostly on a bike for errands/transport and one 8 mile hike.
