A lightweight, packable rain jacket for daily downpours or wet days on trails.

Keep your girl comfortable in wet weather or a downpour on the trail in the lightweight and breathable Marmot Girls' PreCip Jacket. This protective shell with fully-taped seams offers 10K waterproof protection and more breathable comfort than last year's version, thanks to Marmot's new NanoPro waterproof membrane and eco-friendly DWR (durable water repellent) finish. The brimmed hood effectively shelters your girl's head without cutting out her peripheral vision, so she'll be able to clearly see around her when crossing the street or moving along the trail. The jacket is constructed for free movement, and though lightweight overall, features nylon ripstop fabric that offers hand-me-down durability.

  • 10K NanoPro waterproof membrane with excellent breathability (17K)
  • NanoPro eco-friendly DWR finish
  • Durable nylon ripstop face fabric
  • Regular fit with Angel-Wing construction for free movement
  • Full-visibility hood with brim
  • Elastic cuffs
  • Zippered hand pockets

Here's what others have to say...

Is this jacket wind proof or resistant?

Hey Debra,

The Marmot PreCip is considered one of the best bang for your buck rain shells on the market. It is definitely my favorite. The NanoPro material breathes exceptionally well while being waterproof and lightweight. There is no rating for wind proofness but I would say the PreCip is highly wind resistant.

Feel free to contact me directly with any more questions about the Marmot PreCip or if you are interested in setting up an order.

Excellent jacket, initial impressions

Hiked the Webster-Jackson trail to the summit of Mt Jackson with my 12 y/o, we got caught in a couple torrential downpours and she was dry as can be, while my (older) Gore-tex jacket eventually started absorbing water on the sleeves and getting heavy. The jacket is super light as well, I may get one for myself.

Great rain coat

  • Fit: True to size

I ordered this for my nine year old and the large fits perfectly. She is on the lanky side.

Like Father, Like Daughter

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

My daughter wanted an orange rain jacket just like her dads. It is lightweight, which is great because she is always so warm. She loves it and wants to wear it all the time. Will work great as a layer in the fall/winter. The material seems like it will hold up for a long time. Would recommend it highly.
