Pull on the Marmot PreCip to keep your head dry during jogs in the drizzle. Marmot taped the seams onseamsealed the PreCip for waterproof protection, and added a DriClime sweatband to ensures you won’t be blinking sweat out of your eyes at mile 2.

Bottom Line: Don’t let the rain stop you.

Cool // Dry // Light

***Fit
This hat has a nice fit because of the way the material is cut. It is not shallow on me, which is something I look for in a baseball hat. If you need a very deep feel, this may not be the cap, but it is not shallow either. My head is a medium in size and it fits great.

***Material
The reason I got this cap is because it is so light. I wanted something that wasn't going to weigh me or my pack down and this is perfect. It also doesn't soak up and hold moisture. It is super light, but you can adjust the tightness if you are on a summit and don't want it to blow off. There is some moisture absorbing material on the inside of the cap to keep the sweat out of your eyes.

***Color
I got the black but it is extremely hot in the sun. I would not recommend this color for warm weather.

It is a good fit for a medium / small sized head.

A little shallow but

By:
October 23, 2010

Good for what it does! As much as I like wearing a hood, I'm also a huge fan or being able to hear things, so this hat makes life so much easier. It's a little shallow for my head, and wish that it came in a deeper size, but love having that extra bit of protection when stuff gets wet out there

Marmot Cap

By:
May 3, 2007

This Marmot Cap is the best ball cap for hiking or anything. I have a small head and the fit and comfort are the best. It is fleeced lined around the band, and I use it in dead winter when the wind isn't blowing backpacking high-up and it is warm enough. If the wind picks up I simply clip it on my chest strap and pull my fleece beenie out of my pocket. I'm talking brutal temps. In spring and fall it wicks away moisture. I wear mine everywhere all 4 seasons on and off trail. Simply the Best...

The hat is kick a$$ but it is too shallow. i feel a strong fart might blow it off. So glad I spent the extra money for 2 day shipping.

Keepin' Cool and Dry!

This hat is great! If you are trudging up the trail, the sweat band in this keeps the drip out of your eyes and your sunglasses! And if it decides to downpour on you, the breathable Precip will keep you dry and your head warm. Great design for us mountain marmots!

Not recommended if you have a large head

By:
July 8, 2008

I think this is a great hat, but it is too small for me. I wish they offered it in multiple sizes. I gave it to my 9-year old son and it fits him great.

Just a little sweaty

By:

Did the job nicely on my last hiking expedition. Breaths pretty well for a waterproof hat. Would recommend, just not for a hat you really would want to work up a sweat in.
