Body-hugging Polartec Power Stretch Fleece fabric makes the Marmot Women's Power Stretch Half-Zip Shirt an excellent first layer for cold-weather activities. Whether you're heading out the door for a ski tour or a day of ice climbing, this Marmot shirt's soft fleece fabric and flatlock seams ensure total comfort all day. It even includes thumbholes to eliminate sleeve ride-up and cold spots between your jacket and gloves. Wear this extra-versatile layer alone, over another shirt, or under a jacket for just the right amount of warmth and protection.
Bottom Line: Start your winter layering system with the Marmot Power Stretch Half-Zip Shirt.
I'm 5 11", 75kg, and I buy marmot shirts in large, but this shirt is just a tad small. I can still wear a long sleeve base layer underneath, but it's not as comfy and i don't feel like i have that stretch. Just wearing it with a tank underneath is fine, and I love the feel of the fleece. Still love the long arms! I would buy a size up.
Received this top recently. Really impressed with the way it looks and fits. Sort of wet-suit-ish, very form fitting and sexy!! Really great workmanship. Feels really comfy on and will be a huge asset this winter during outdoor winter activities.

Glad to have found this! Wore it the day I got it around my apartment to keep warm without turning up the heat. Wore it on a 3 mile run in 40 degree weather, 10mph wind, and light rain - over a short sleeve tech tee and was warm the whole time. I have also worn this as my outer layer on runs down into the upper 20s. While not a windbreaker, it helps cut down on the wind. Inside of the jacket is very soft; collar fabric is soft too. Collar comes a little higher than the zipper so you don't poke yourself.I'm 5'2", 120lbs. So according to Marmot's height/weight size chart I could have gone XS or S. I ordered a Small in the green (great shade of green!) Hits at hip on me; a little lower in back- partially covers my bum. Sleeves are plenty long, though that's rarely an issue for me. Was able to ball my fists up inside the sleeves until I had warmed up enough to use the thumb holes. This jacket is fitted, but not too tight over my 35" bust (maybe 34" smooshed into a sports bra). I've still got room to wear a long sleeve base layer underneath when I wear this skiing in the winter. The XS would have been very fitted, possibly a little too tight in the waist/hips.Only complaint is that there are no pockets; a zip pocket on the back would have been great. Luckily my running shorts/tights all have a pocket in them (i.e. for a key) so it's not an issue.
I now have 5 of these Marmot half zip shirts and I love them all! I wear one almost every day in the winter, it's my uniform you might say. Every year there's new colors and so every year I buy at least one, sometimes 2! Especially when they are on sale. Thanks Backcountry for having a great deal on them this year!
What has happened at Marmot to cause them to design a shirt with a horrible fit like this one? My OLD version of this Marmot half zip is wonderful - great fit and great fabric. But this new version has tight fore-arms and tight-armpits. Normally I wear XS - but in this new cut, the XS was sooooooo uncomfortable. The midriff was perfect - just a slight air space between fabric and body, but the armpits and arms were miserably tight - no air space at all. And I do NOT have Popeye arms. I then tried the size small - which still had tight fore-arms and armpits - but had a large midriff which will see me through 7 months of pregnancy if necessary. Plus due to the smaller cut on the armpits, the fabric bulks strangely in front and back of the armpit. What is up with the tight armpits???? It rubs your deoderant off and chafes the tender armpit skin. Youch! The zipper quality is so-so. The fabric is nice, but enough with all the extra seams already! I hope Marmot returns to their former fit and quality next season so I can start buying their shirts again!
This is a nice quality shirt...almost jacket. It is very heavy almost like a wet suit. It doesn't have as much flexibility as I would have liked. It's extremely warm but not very breathable. Very form fitting - looks nice but too tight in the shoulders for me. For the price I need to love it so I'll return it for something else. I am very pleased with Backcountry's service.
I've had this top for a few months and it is awesome! It is quite warm and insulates very well, even in freezing northern New England temperatures. The inside has stayed very soft and fleecy despite a number of washings and the fit is very flattering - not at all bulky, hugs in just the right places.
