Some fabrics bind, restrict, bulk up, and put the kibosh on winter fun, but the light and breathable Marmot Women's Power Stretch Full-Zip Fleece Jacket stretches every which way, so you're free to be the move-maker you are. This slim, athletic-fit jacket can be worn alone on a long climb or with a weatherproof shell on the slopes. Flatlock seams prevent chafing, and elastic bond cuffs seal out the chill while you focus on your next move.

Mid-layer warmth, nice fit

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is a nice mid-layer for colder days, or a good standalone fleece for slightly warmer weather. Because of the stretch quality, this fleece is great to wear when you're hiking, running, etc. The sleeve length is generous (I ordered a Medium and usually have an issue with sleeves being too short on my very long arms, but these sleeves land perfectly past my wrist) and the fit is flattering. I'd recommend this for active-wear, but not as a layer to keep you warm on its own as it's not very thick fleece and is not windproof.

Feminine-cut Fleece

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I have the Marmot power stretch half zip pullover from several years ago and like it for its warmth and light weight. I've been wanting a slim fitting versatile black fleece so when there was a Marmot promotion, I hopped on it. My measurements are at the upper end of the Marmot XS size range and the XS fit me well without being tight. I prefer the fit of this style over several of the baggier TNF styles I've tried. So far I've used it as a to/from layer. I've recently worn it after running at the track at night when temperatures are dipping into the 40s and while hanging around after a long trail run when it was in the upper 40s, overcast, and windy. I plan to wear it as casual outerwear around town, for dog walks, and hiking once "winter" hits SoCal.
