This Marmot vest uses body-hugging Polartec Power Stretch fleece and flatlock seams to create a close fit that works great whether you wear it alone or in the middle of your winter layers. By concentrating insulation on your core, the Marmot fleece vest helps you stay warm without making you overheat when you start cruising on a steep section of trail.

Bottom Line: Layer up for chilly weather with the snug-fitting Marmot Power Stretch Fleece Vest.

Exactly what I was looking for!

Was looking for a lightweight vest to wear as a layer for skiing as well as a layer going to work! I work in NYC where it can get pretty damn cold. This vest works perfectly. I'm 6'1 220lbs with an athletic build. The XL fits perfectly - maybe just a tad too big but not worth complaining about. It's warm, thin, stretchy, and has a great collar. Oh, and it looks great, too. Would definitely recommend this product if this is what you're looking for.

Solid Mid-Layer

By:

Great for a mid-layer in colder temps or light insulation when warmer. Breathes fairly well and is comfy. The fit is a little different than other vests. Quite long. Overall a solid purchase and the blue is a nice color.

On a Large size the coller to hem line is 6" and 6 3/4 to the end of the vest. maybe that might help

Awesome vest

By:

Great looking vest that provides more core warmth than expected. At 5'6" and 165# (I'm "husky") a medium was a good choice (perfect through the chest and shoulders although a little long - I can't blame Marmot for my height). I would definetly recommend.

Had high hopes

Power Stretch is an uberfabric and i'm a big fan. Needed a power stretch vest for a variety of uses and they're surprisingly hard to come by -- few manufacturers make them. Dunno why. Marmot's always been great quality, and this vest is no exception. But the one hangup i had with it i couldn't get over -- the length. I'm 5'10" 205lbs size 44 and went with the large. Loved the snug fit, the high collar and usable pocket. But the vest ran so far down it completely covered my backside. Can't roll it up (looks too silly), can't tuck it in (who the hell wants to tuck in a vest?), and because it's such a snug fit it looks odd hanging all the way down.

Really wanted this vest to work for me. Vests are for core warmth -- can't fathom why Marmot would make this product this way. If you're tall, it'd prolly work for you tho. Hate to return it but i have to.

Great Vest

By:
October 18, 2009

Exactly what I wanted.

I'm 6'2, 150lbs. Finding a vest that doesn't fit like a garbage bag is a challenge. I got a medium in the brown and it fits perfectly. I purchased this about two weeks ago and have probably worn it every day since. Comfortable around the house with a t-shirt underneath... but also looks nice with a dres shirt and jeans to head out for the evening. No hand pockets took some getting used to, but helps to keep the vest minimal and sleek. Non pilling material will help to keep this fleece vest looking new.

Stop thinking about it and buy it already... you'll be happy.

LOVE this vest

Personally, 300 lbs sounds WAY too big for a "normal" size vest; that other guy should be shopping at a Big N Tall :) I'm 6 feet, 165 lbs and a size Large fits PERFECTLY. Athletic fit, without a lot of extra material flopping around when trail running or biking. If you're a normal sized guy, this vest is the jam.

Portable. Lightweight, Warm

By:

On a hike or trailrun it's what's on you that counts. This vest can easily be stuffed into a backpack pocket or using a compression stuff sack, can fit in a waist pack.
That's my only criticism. Marmot or BackCountry should charge the extra couple of bucks and outfit each of these sold with a little stuff sack!

XXL is more like a true L.

By:
April 21, 2008

If you are a XXL don't buy this vest. I am an athletically developed 300 pound large man, and it did not com close to fitting me. An REI XXL vest fits me well. A waste of $80.00 dollars for me. It would be a wonderful vest for someone it fits.
