A cozy throwback.

The Men's Poacher Pile Fleece Jacket is Marmot's heritage piece that's acceptable for après parties despite its rugged, outdoorsy personality. This wool blend jacket has a high-pile fleece backer for a boost of warmth, and flatlock seams ensure smooth comfort throughout winter. Marmot added a padded sleeve for 13-inch laptops and tablets.

Great Jacket, Does the Job, but...

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

This jacket is fantastic all around. Warm, wool, fast drying, and useful in every way. My two minor gripes keeping it from the usual automatic 5-star Marmot review are 1) this thing pills like none other and 2) the breast pocket is a little too "sport" for the feel of the rest of the jacket. Don't get me wrong, it's still stylish and I have received compliments on it on more than one occasion, but without the pocket flap, it would be a classy jacket, not just a pilly aggravation. I still wear it for utility's sake, but I'm starting to realize that I spend more time picking at pills than enjoying nature (my own bad habit probably). Just know what you're getting before you buy and you'll get plenty of mileage out of it.
