The description says "adjustable waistband", but the pants only have a snap button closure. Nothing to adjust. I believe that the description may have been copied over from the 2012 or older version. Please advise. Thank you.

Hey josp375323,

Thanks for your reaching out.

I double checked what we have on hand in our inventory and you are correct. This item features a snap closure but no waistband adjustment. The only way you would be able to adjust the waist is by using a belt with the belt loops.

Love these

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I love these pants. They are not insulated so I've warn one or two layers underneath. One layer was fine for about an about walking around @ about 20+ F T but if I spent a lot of time kneeling or sitting my knees or ass my start to get a little cold. I was more comfortable with 2 layers underneath. Totally waterproof. I got the large, I usually wear 33-34" waist and I'm 5'8" 175 lbs.

Great GoreTex Shell

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

These pants are awesome. Comfortable, good range of motion and breathable. Kept me dry all day while tackling Mt. Washington last weekend. I did clip the leg just outside cordura area with my crampon and ripped them a bit, but that's my bad and has nothing to do with the pant quality.

Im 5'9" and 170-what size should I take?...

Im 5'9" and 170-what size should I take? It seems that some taller people are buying smalls?

What's your waist and inseam measurements? Those would help a little more as some of the taller people could have uber long torso's and short legs.

Once you have those measurements, feel free to let us know and we can point you in the best direction.

My brother is about 3 inches taller than me and we wear the same pant size. He is that guy with a long torso and short legs.

Great All Mountain Weather Protection

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Grabbed these up as a ski resort pair of gore tex and pleased with their performance even when skinning up with my AT gear they proved to be breathable. I'm one that prefers bibs and full leg zips but these offer style while also great wind and water protection. The boot gaiters help to eliminate the snow dropping in your boots and lower leg zips make getting your boots on easy. Pockets are plenty with two front hip, two rear and one vertical leg pocket. At this budget price for gore tex pants you can't beat them. I'll be wearing these in the Spring on a couple of PNW glaciers and should have a much better feel of their overall performance.
I'm 6' 175 lbs and the medium fit perfect!

Unreal value

They are gore tex. super comfortable I can't figure out why they are so inexpensive. A great pair of pants. They don't have insulation but I like that because you can layer accordingly. I am a large and 5 11. 195 lbs.

Great for Skiing

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these pants as a gift for my Dad. He is a fairly avid skier and doesn't have a single complaint about these pants. In fact, he thanks me for the pants each and every time we get out. The Gore-Tex Performance shell should get him dry both insides and out for many more ski trips.
