I'm 5'3", 105(ish) lbs. and ordered the 4 (my waist is 23.5"/hips 33") and they fit like a dream.

I wore these hiking in the mountains in the newly-fallen snow (around 26ish degrees with the wind chill), and they held up perfectly. I had a pair of midweight merino wool leggings underneath and was comfortably warm the entire time. Just a note -- these are very close-fitted! But according to my hiking partner, my butt looked great the whole time, so...

What I absolutely love about these are the stretchy knees and the web belt. The knees are awesome because it means my pants aren't pulling down when I kneel or sit, and I never had issues with the web belt rubbing under my hiking pack belt. I didn't even know it was there. I also didn't have to adjust these pants once the entire 4 hours I was out there.

What I wish was a little different is the length. They were longer than I needed being a short chick, and I had to find a way to tuck them (I ended up rolling them a bit) into my hiking boots because the bottoms are pretty unforgiving and don't stretch much.
