The versatility of the Marmot Women's Original Driclime Windshirt is still being tested in the field. So far, the testers have been working without a break to determine that the Windshirt is windproof, water resistant, fast wicking, and highly breathable. The results are still out as to whether or not it is capable of letting your travel through time or appear invisible to your ex at the bar.

Bottom Line: It has most things covered.

Marmot Original Driclime Windshirt- Women's

By:

This has instantly become one of my favorite jackets. In the low digits, 20's and 30's temps with moisture and wind, in all ranges I have felt comfortable, never feeling chilled nor too warm. Layer accordingly and it is about perfect. Only two drawbacks, it is not tailored and wish it had a drawstring on the bottom to prevent cold drafts from coming up. For me it is not a huge problem as I wear a water belt which stops the air from getting up. It has a higher collar which is great for protecting the neck. I recommend this for hiking, biking, nordic skiing, running, etc. I'll wear this forever.

Great Item

I bought this jacket/windshirt mainly to use while running in cooler weather and it has worked out just great. For as light as it is, it actually keeps me pretty warm and does an excellent job of wicking away moisture. I think if I had to do it all over again I would have ordered a medium (I ordered a small and I'm 5'6 about 120) just so I could have had the little bit of extra length, but I kept the small anyway and have had no issues with it. I ordered it in Bluesky/Celestial Blue and the color is just gorgeous!

Love, Love, Love It!

By:

Just to begin, best wind-shirt EVER! I got this thinking I was getting a light jacket, don't be confused this is shirt thickness for sure. But after that initial shock, I've fallen in love... seriously. This wind-shirt goes under every jacket I wear in the winter and you won't know until you have one, but cutting out wind adds so much temp. This baby cuts out the wind completely! I wear it under my winter coat and over a base layer and a poly-t when I take winter afternoon runs (when it's 30 degrees or more) and it's all I need. I love the lined pockets on my runs, especially if I forget my gloves.
For sizing purposes, I'm almost 5'8" and 130lbs with a 32 or 34 A bra size. I have a size small and it's tight with one layer underneath, but it works.

Probably great, but seems to run small

By:
March 26, 2009

My boyfriend got the men's version of this jacket and loves it. I've borrowed his and it really was great. So when this one came up on sale we pounced on it. Unfortunately the small is uncomfortably tight on me through the shoulders, chest and underarms, even though my height and weight are well within the small size range according to the chart, and I'm only a 34B. Actually, per the size chart, I am an Extra small, but the way the small fits, I wouldn't have even been able to put an extra small on! I will get a medium, and I'm sure I'll love it, but I wanted to caution about the sizing. The blue is a beautiful color in person, BTW.

I agree about the fit. Mine was also too small in the bust (a first for me!) even though according to the sizing chart it should have been perfect.

Update: Yeah, it's awesome

By:

I got the medium and it fits MUCH better. I've worn it belaying, climbing, hiking, and just about everywhere else. It doesn't restrict movement at all, fits under a harness nicely, and even stood up to multiple elbow jams (don't ask) in granite. It also worked great as a mid layer under a fleece, keeping me nice and toasty warm. If you're looking for a hard working, tough, all-around windshirt/light jacket, you can't go wrong with this one. Note: the tech specs indicate one internal and one sleeve pocket. Mine only has one chest pocket, no others.

A shirt for All Seasons

By:
December 14, 2010

I live in Vermont and I use this shirt for skiing, hiking, walking, bicycling, motorcycling, and just plain hanging out in when its a little chilly in the house. I have washed it probably 1000 times and it still looks like new...except the zipper finally went. Thank God Marmot still makes them - I haven't found anything comparable.

Great jacket.

By:

I agree this jacket runs small. Sleeves a little long for me ( I am a petite) but I can live with that. Great layering jacket or as a lightweight jacket on warmer days.

Just okay...

By:
February 1, 2010

I wasn't a huge fan of this jacket. I didn't like the slit sides, and while I liked the back being the long, the front was too short for my torso. I'm 6' tall and loooong. I also didn't like the elastic sleeve cuffs, they were too tight and got irritating after a short time wearing it. The inside was very soft and comfortable and the outside shell was a nice material too. I just didn't think it was special enough for the money and it was too short in the torso.

This piece is a must have. I use it for running in the cold and as a layering piece for skiing. It breaths well and keeps you super warm without bulk. Enjoy!
