NanoWave 45 Sleeping Bag

When you're bicycle-touring cross-country, paddling for a week in the Boundary Waters, or backpacking Isle Royale, space and weight are at a premium. Bring along the Marmot NanoWave 45 Sleeping Bag: 45 Degree Synthetic, and stay comfy at night without contributing to any back-crushing weight during your daytime travels. This lightweight yet durable bag uses high-loft Spirafil synthetic insulation to keep you warm on chilly, humid summer nights.

Even though the NanoWave 45 weighs in at under two pounds, it is packed with features of convenience and functionality. Marmot created this easily-packable bag with an impressive attention to detail. Blanket construction, a snagless draft tube, two-way zipper sliders, and a zipper garage all contribute to comfort and convenience. Expertly designed features like "feely" drawcords and hang loops prove that Marmot's designers have been out there and know what features adventurers like you want.

compact light sleeping bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was very happy when I received this sleeping bag. It is compact, lightweight and will work great for summer camping. Also the fabric has a soft feel so will be great to sleep on instead of the typical plastic feel of synthetic material. I have not used the bag yet, but will update after use.

Probably rated closer to 50 degrees

I know that these ratings tend to vary given how well the person using the sleeping bag handles the cold and other weather factors. But after this past weekend, I'm fairly confident this is closer rated to 50 degrees than 45. I was camping around Asheville, NC this weekend for 3 nights and tested this out in actually cold weather (40s and 50s versus 60s and 70s, which is what I tested it at last time). It worked fairly well but I give it about a B- for how it handles actually cold weather. The tempertures for the weekend were between 45ish and 55ish and on the 45ish night I was bundled up in 2 tops, a beanie, very thick Smartwool socks and Smartwool thermal base layer pants and I was just warm enough. Even at 55ish I was wearing extra clothes to keep me warm and, as far as I'm concerned, if a sleeping bag is rated for a temperature, I should be able to use it in just my underwear...or at least very minimal clothing. Still, I love that it's so compact and otherwise well-made. It definitely does the trick for almost 45 degrees.

The large size bag is heavier than the claimed weight. 2 lbs 8 oz, not 2 lbs even.

Lasted the test of time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very happy with this sleeping bag for warm evenings that extend into chilly nights - spring, fall and high elevation summer camping. I took this summer backpacking though Alaska and it packs down in it’s cinch sack and is lightweight. When I used the conch sack as a daypack in town, one of the outfitters said he had the same one and did the same thing with it (used as daypack). Great minds think alike. Super comfortable and love the material. Not a sweaty layer of plastic at all. Machine washes great.

Wanted to love this

The price is great, the packability, is great, and the quality is great. So I wanted to love this as a perfect value bag. However, my first night trying it and the pros are balanced by a few cons. Caveats are that I?m a side sleeper and this was my first time using a mummy bag. The bag is nice to the touch and fairly easy to zip. However I felt claustrophobic when I zipped this up! With one zipper on the left, it?s difficult to reach over with your right hand to unzip, particularly if you?re in a hurry to open it. The fit was awkward for me, so the hood ended up bunched or dangling behind my head all night. It was warm enough on a 60? night, almost too warm for me, so I ended up unzipping it. This might work better for some, but this will not be a go-to bag for me unless I need to save space.

Great summer bag

Love this for warmer nights. I was camping 4 nights on the Green River Utah. One night got a bit too cold for this bag, but I have no idea what the temp was. Could have been 40 degrees. Not sure. Other nights were maybe 50 degrees at night and I was perfectly comfortable

Nice lightweight summer bag

Perfect lightweight summer sleeping bag. Fits compactly in my pack, doesn't take up much room at all. Only issue is the weight listed at 1lb 1.3oz but even the outside of the compression sack has it at 1lb 13oz. On top of that, I weighed it at home with the compression sack and it's 2lb 4oz. So misleading info on the site for sure.
