A great outer layer for the price
This jacket serves as a nice outer layer on moderate days (40-50F) but must be accompanied by an insulating fleece on cold days (25-40F) and some serious layering on colder days. One thing to note is that without layers my core stays warm while my arms chill noticeably in any kind of breeze. My advice is to layer up!
The jacket is notably waterproof. I was caught in a sudden downpour while walking the dog a few days back and the jacket beaded up admirably and kept me dry.
The adjustable hood has a firm top/lid that is a nice touch and keeps the hood from covering your eyes when fully tightened.
The length of the coat and snow skirt are also notable features that I'm pleased with. The garment construction and stiching feel top shelf. The jacket has a nice high quality feel.
Heading to Whiteface in a few weeks, then I'll see how the jacket really performs in the elements.
I would definitely recommend this coat to a friend.
