You’d like a super-soft baselayer that won’t smell like a locker-room after your day on the slopes. And you’d prefer that the odor management not come from a treatment that’ll wash out halfway through the season. And how about a treatment that’s environmentally friendly? Welcome to the Marmot Women’s Midweight Zip-Neck Shirt. The Cocona technology incorporates recycled coconut shells into the Polartec Power Dry yarn so you can enjoy odor management and quick, evaporative cooling year after year.

Bottom Line: You never know where a coconut shell’ll end up.

Nice midweight top

By:
January 17, 2010

I wear this top to run in the winter in Northern California, and it keeps me plenty warm. The cut is fitted and athletic but not tight. The material is flocked inside and like a knit on the outside. Turtleneck zip collar with a little placket to cover the zipper. Marmot claims that the material resists odor, but I did not find that to be particularly true.

I had the same problem with the pants that are like this. There a little to big, If you normally wear a L try the medium. Once I worked out the size problem these felt and worked great!

This top has a great fit, and seems perfectly warm, but the fabric has this weird grabby feeling to it. I purchased this along with a couple options for mid-layers and decided to return this one in favor of the thinner, smoother fabric of the north face el cap top. The fabric might soften up or smooth out in the wash (it has a similar feeling to some of the micro fiber tek towels out there). But ultimately I just wanted one mid-layer and chose a different one for a couple reasons.
