A big January storm validates your devotion to a single mountain, a single chairlift, or even a single line through the trees. Since mid-winter storms usually bring the coldest, harshest weather of the year, the Marmot Midweight 1/2-Zip Top comes in handy as it insulates, dries, and remains comfortable from your dark bedroom to the last celebratory beer at the base-area bar.

  • Midweight stretch Polartec Power Dry fabric holds in heat, breathes away moisture, and dries quickly if you take a hike in the afternoon
  • Flatlock seams let you move naturally while skiing or boarding without chafing
  • 1/2-length zipper allows venting to prevent overheating, and the collar provides exceptional warmth retention
  • Cocona anti-odor technology in the fabric inhibits the growth of odor-causing microbes to keep your top fresh for a weekend of pow-shredding
  • Marmot Upcycle product uses reused, recycled, and discarded materials to reduce waste and carbon emissions

The Marmot mid-weight is very light and very warm. I am 6'4" with long arms and a big neck. It is snug throughout the body but long enough to be tucked in without coming untucked every time I lean over to strap my bindings. The neck is a "normal" so if you rock an 18"neck it will be a little tight on you when zipped all the way up. If you have a regular sized neck (17-) this should not be a problem. The arms are long enough to reach my wrists and the shoulders have enough flex so when I raise my arms up everything stays in place. I liked it so much I bought the matching bottoms. I have only used them for downhill snowboarding where the got soaked but it was basically raining so cannot attest to their moisture wicking.

I have tried many base layers that all claim to "wick" moisture way from the skin and not leave you soaked. To date this is the only base layer that has EVER delivered on that promise. I do not know how or why it works but it does. Winter rides on the mountain bike are no where near as cold for not having the moisture on the skin, not only that and I cant figure out why, the rest of my clothes gear doesn't end up being nearly as saturated as before. Have no clue if the odor control works or not. Clothes get washed after every ride. Truly amazing stuff and for the price, a steal.

Skied in it in 15F.

Arms are MUCH longer than previous model.
I'm a "standard" men's M, 5"11" with what I think are normal length arms. Previous models fit my arms fine...
