Stylish multifunctional jacket

Was looking for a ski jacket to replace my 15 year old one. I wanted something multifunctional-- one that I could use even when not on the slopes. I have kids that play soccer and here in the wet North West, I could use a waterproof jacket that will keep me warm.

This jacket is great. It doesn't look like a typical ski jacket. It fits well and is slimming, not bulky at all. Have gotten a few compliments on it already. I'm 5'3" and 120 lbs and got the XS. It would be tight, though, with a thicker sweater underneath.

Used it on the slopes but unfortunately it was a warm and sunny 32 degrees so I can't tell you how warm it would be in colder weather. I was plenty warm w/ a t-shirt and thermal long sleeve top.

Overall, very happy with this purchase.

    Love this jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I have received quite a view compliments on this snow jacket!! I really wanted something that I could wear everyday on my commute that would not feel too bulky, that would make me clearly visible to motorists in the snow (I'm a pedestrian), and one which would not be the Black North Face brand that so many women wear out here on the NorthEast in the winter. So I went with this Marmot, the rose color--which is quite a warm magenta. I'm quite pleased with the effect. This is my second Marmot product and I feel that the lines are very flattering! I don't feel bulked up at all. I don't know how it performs as a skiing jacket, since I don't ski :) but as a city dweller I find that it has performed rather well with the 20s/30s temperatures. Just make certain at a certain point in those chilly ranges, that you have a layer like a cardigan or fleece or sweater underneath, scarf etc. In other words, the insulation is not super thick, so I would not just pull it on over a t-shirt unless I was I going shoveling and/or the day was warm (40s) and even then it might be too warm. It does fall over the bum (I'm 5'5") so that is nice.

Oh--one last thing! The pockets are fantastic. Pockets for lip balm, mobile device, keys, etc without bulking up the look and feel at all! Well done.

Hope this review gives you an idea. There's very little out there about this jacket, but I think if you Youtube it, there's a video review available to see more about the fit. I am usually a size 6/8 and so chose the Medium and found it true to size.

How warm is it really? I understand one gets is warm during skiing/snowboarding... But what about when you spend 15 minutes on a ski lift and it's -10 - -15C?

It's pretty darn warm, but not sure yet how it works in below freezing temperatures! Temperatures have dropped here on the Northeast so far only to the early 20s F. This winter so far has been a bit mild. Generally with temps between 20-30F as long as I have a sweater underneath, I'm golden. I do wear this jacket quite a lot especially since I'm in the city, as a pedestrian too, so I'm moving quite a bit. Will update as soon as our temperatures plunge in Jan/February!
