Family fun all spring, fall, and summer long.

Mashing two adults, two children, and a dog into a regular four-person tent could be called "quality family time", or it could be called "Timmy and Sally make each other cry, Sparkles pees on a sleeping bag, and Mom and Dad vow never to take camping trip ever again." If a standard four-person's a little cramped, try the Marmot Limestone 4 Four-Person Three-Season Tent, which uses four DAC aluminum poles and color-coded clips and sleeves to pitch quickly, stand solidly, and provide plenty of room for the whole family to sleep without making each other miserable. Two of the poles run horizontally for tons of headroom, and the mesh body lets plenty of air in so things don't get too smelly or feel too stuffy.

Although it's a family shelter, the Limestone is still built with all the ruggedness you'd expect of a Marmot tent. The fly is made of polyester ripstop, the walls and floor of tough polyester and nylon, and all the seams are fully taped to keep water from getting you and your gear soggy. The fly's vented, too, to keep air moving even if it's rainy, and the internal pockets help the whole gang stay (somewhat) organized. It's been made with other thoughtful details, too, like an Arona blue interior to simulate blue sky, jingle-free nylon zipper pulls, and reflective guy-out points so you don't trip and bring the whole tent down in the dark. The family will love you for that.

    Thoughtfully designed

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Our vacations often consist of traveling in the west and Canada and spending most nights in a campground of some sort accessible by car. This tent was to be a replacement for one worn out from decades of use. We recently used this tent on a 3 week western trip to the northern Rockies.

Unlike our backpacking tent that is ideally set up on a bed of pine needles a car camping tent more often is set up on a tent pad surfaced with rock or other abrasive material. We liked the thicker- than- most floor this tent provided. While weight is not an issue for our needs this tent is not heavy and it is readily contained in an ample sized bag with a thoughtfully provided carrying strap. I would consider using this tent for canoe camping if the portages were not long. Anyone familiar with modern tent design will find this tent trivial to erect, a handy attribute when it is already raining. One day we had winds reported to be gusting at 25 mph and the tent shed the wind uneventfully. It is provided with ample ties providing the surrounding ground will accept the robust stakes provided.

The tent has a host of thoughtful features. There is a hook to hang a lantern from, pockets, a fly with adjustable straps to tension the fly, convenient tie backs for the door, and double zippers on the tent and fly doors to customize the opening and ventilation. A personal favorite is the color. It blends into the forest from the outside, and provides a pleasing light ambience inside. In summary I was impressed by the many thoughtful features the tent provided.

We spent one rainy night in the tent. The underside of the fly accumulated a layer of condensation water which is usual for this style of tent. However, no water dripped into the sleeping area. The tent lacks a back door or window. Hence, ventilation and being able to look out of the tent is marginal. It was freezing most nights we used the tent so ventilation was not a concern, but it could be in a hot night. Water beads up but sticks to the waterproof coating on the fly. An amazing amount of water was adhered to the fly the morning after the rainy night. This property makes getting the tent dry after a night of condensation or rain slow. The only reservation I have about this tent is ventilation if it is hot.

    Great option for good space

The Marmot Limestone 4 gives you amazing features for a great price. It's am awesome combination of weight and space with plenty of room for 4. With a spacious vestibule and the double doors, I never have to fight my way around gear to get in an out. As with all Marmot tents, the Limelight holds up to any weather that you throw at it.

    Excelente!!!!

Estaba buscando una tienda de campaña que lograra satisfacer mis necesidades y la limestone 4 personas es todo lo que buscaba entre calidad, espacio y precio creo que sobrepasó mis expectativas, además es muy fácil de armar!!

      Great for car camping.

I bought this tent as a car camping. plenty of room for a couple with a queen side mattress and storage for your gear. Really easy set up, ventilation works great and the door foot print is a extra bonus. I spent two night at El Capitan state beach, CA and the tent proof to be worth every penny...So I highly recommend it...Thank you so much to Backcountry technical support .😀

        Great for car camping.

        Sturdy and roomy

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Though we've only tested this in the backyard so far, we were very impressed with the design. The screened portion provides ample star gazing room, and the door allows easy access to slip out to enjoy the campfire without disturbing our sleeping toddler. Our initial impression leaves us eager to venture out more and experience this tent in true wilderness! Will keep you posted as we put this through further testing in seasons to come.

        Home away from Home

Blue grass fest with my wife and two small children this past weekend. Heavy rain for hours early sunday morning Stayed dry as a bone and had plenty of room for us too hang out and play games to the rain past.. I highly recommend this to a family of 4 even 5 if the kids are small enough. Enjoy!!

        Yeah is good

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this tent 2 seasons ago, and my family and I love it. I have the older model, and have seen reviews saying the poles bend. Marmot says in the instructions that your poles will develop a natural curve to them which mine do. I have camped in pretty much every situation in this tent including very high winds which would have buckled your standard tent, and my poles have never shown signs of even beginning to bend or break whatsoever. And when properly staked down, it is very sturdy and the wind doesn't push it down and make it sag which always makes me nervous. I have also used this tent with down pouring rain in which the Buffalo National River rose to the red mark in a matter of hours, and this tent kept us dry and inside playing UNO the whole time. by the end of the rainstorm we were camping in a puddle, and the floor never leaked through. The only disadvantage is there is no footprint for this tent because of the fully taped seams, although I wish they made one for it. Also the zipper snagged at the base of the vestibule, but I think it was from my kids yanking on the zipper. Also room is not an issue. there are 2 adults, and 2 children sleeping in mine, and we could easily add another adult and still be comfortable. I use this tent all year round, and it's on it's 2nd year of heavy abuse. I would recommend this product to anyone. I thank marmot for letting me trust that my trip won't get ruined by a faulty tent.

Buy it, use it, love it!

The Marmot Limestone 4P Tent is a great tent, possibly one of the best on the market in my opinion. With great room on the inside, the Marmot Limestone 4P Tent really challenges the notion that a 4 person tent is really for 3 people. The Marmot Limestone 4P Tent's fly is made of 68d 100% Polyester Ripstop which is water resistant, and I can attest to the strength of the Marmot Limestone 4P Tent after being in windy and rainy conditions and being very confident it would get me through it. Berz Rating: 90/100 (Made in USA would get it a much higher rating)
