The Marmot Limelight Tent lets you and your buddies escape that claustrophobic, sardines-in-a-can feeling when you camp. Waterproof windows on each fly door and large mesh vents provide the feel and view of the outdoors.

  • Two vestibules store excess gear
  • Two large D doors make it easy to get in and out

Bottom Line: Comfortable in the limelight.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

I also got this tent. It was advertised with the included foot print and gear loft, but the tent did not come with them. I contacted backcountry.com and after a few days, they are working with me to get me what was advertised.

When I got the tent, I set it up. It comes with 10 stakes and guy lines. The tent is a little heavy to use for backpacking, but if the weight is split up, I think it will work great. I definitely think this is a 2.5 person tent or two and a dog in the vestibule kind of tent. You would be VERY cozy if you had three people in it.

The tent also did not come with a red tab on the corner of the rain fly and the corner of the tent to match up, to make it really quick to recognize that you are trying to put the rain-fly on sideways, but that is not a big deal to me. It was never claimed on backcountry.com that it did, but a video on Marmot.com said it does.

The tent seems well crafted, fairly large, and the height, in addition to the brow pole, really opens up the tent. The windows seam sturdy, but who knows it they will crack after a few years and create leaks through the tent, but marmot has a lifetime warranty on defects, not really useful though if it is raining and you are camping.

This tent will get a lot of use in the weeks to come....I will keep you posted on the durability and how it does in the wind and rain.

Missing footprint and loft

Backcountry.com is awesome. I wrote a review yesterday about my Limelight 3P tent arriving twice with no footprint or loft. Backcountry appologized and explained they had two options of the tent and had a misprint on the website. Backcountry is shipping me the correct tent overnight air. I will be putting the tent to the test this coming week on a 4 day float trip down the Buffalo River in Arkansas.

Missing footprint and loft

I ordered the limelight on April 27 and the website advertised the footprint and loft included in the 199.95 price. I contacted Backcountry via chat on May 1st. The web site still had it advertised as included with this price. They agreed it should have been with the tent and sent me another tent. I received a second tent and it did not have the two items with it either. I got back on the website to chat and they had changed the website to where it was not included. I am waiting on an answer to weather they are going to honor what they had advertised on the website. I will updat the reveiw when I know something.
