Good Product (Little Overpriced)

I really like this overall, however it is a little too long in the torso. Kind of a minor gripe, but for a tight fitting shirt, I don't want it to extend past my butt. However, this is my go-to base layer for skiing and it works great...

Good Product

I took three of these on a 95 day hike around the high Sierra. After all the punishment including some major bush whacking I did not end up with a single hole in any of the shirts. Because of the fabric the rodents don't touch it either adding another plus. Over all these performed better then any other shirts I have tried for long distance hiking.

Great shirt

I've purchased a few of these in years past and love the fact that they've increased the length while keeping the fit the same. I'm 6ft 205 lbs and like to wear this as an initial layer while running or hiking. Very comfortable and well made shirt.

Worth every penny !

Very comfortable shirt. Wicks sweat away no matter the temp outside. Have worn skiing a few days so far and very happy. Very good fit. Love the length of this shirt(no plumbers butt when bending over). Nice and soft on the skin with no itch.

Nice shirt

good quality, looks good, very comfortable, good price, what else can you ask?

Marmot Quality

I trust Marmot so when I stumbled across these at a discount store I bought it. It is lightweight, wicks moisture well and is very comfortable to wear. I would consider this a athletic fit with the stretchy material.

too short!

The quality seemed pretty decent and the fit was ok except for the torso was way too short. it barely went to the waist line of the pants i was wearing. i never got to try it out to see how the performance was. it was returned immediately due to the short torso length.

disappointing base layer

I love Marmot gear but was disappointed with this base layer, especially after reading all of the rave reviews from others. The fit just is not that good for me, and it is particularly tight through the chest and shoulders, and restricts my movements somewhat (and I'm a consistent medium in base layer tops). Also, there are unnecesary extra seams on the sleeves that I find very annoying (no need for 3 seams on each sleeve!). I would rank this base layer well below all of my other baselayers, including patagonia capilene, REI, the north face, and even under armour. I have not worn it for extended period of time so I have no comment on the antimicrobial nature of it.

I have last years model of this shirt. It seems that maybe the weave of the shirt has change--more meshy or peached than before. That would be nice since last year's model was like sandpaper. Does anyone know?

The fabric has not changed since last year.

Wouldn't go without

Ok, so I held of on reviewing this shirt until I put it to the test in the cold and the heat. Skiied in Colorado in the teens, had this as my base, Patagonia R2, and my Mountain Hardware Shell. Incredibly warm to the point I started sweating for a bit, but this shirt did not hold any moisture and dried out superfast. I recently tried it out in Banff on a day hike. Was about 78 degrees at the lower elevations and damn close to freezing at the summit (played in some leftover snow :-) I wore this shirt and shorts. I was sweating like a sauna at near the base to the point the shirt was soaked. Took a 20 minute or so break about halfway up and in the blink of an eye it seemed the marmot shirt was dry as a bone, so much so that it alone kept me plenty warm until I reached the summit where it was insanely cold for the middle of august. That required adding my pac-lite MH windstopper. I would highly recommend this base layer for both winter and summer activites, it is top notch! Fit is great, not itchy, no tags, and worth every penny. Enjoy

I wouldn't say the neck is loose, but it's also not tight. I have a pretty large/broad neck and I'm not restricted or uncomforatable in the shirt. Fit's me great.

I have been around lots and lots of base layers. This Marmot crew is by far the best one yet. Fit is perfect. The warmth from such a thin material is beyond words. Buy today!

Amazing Shirt!

A baselayer doesn't get much better than this. All the Marmot gear I own is pretty consistent on fit and this is no exception. The medium fits me great, I'm 5'11 145lbs. It feels like it was custom made for me. Sleeves are just long enough and when you tuck it in it doesn't ride up. Order two at least.

Fits great

Another nice piece for layering in the winter, I hate shirts that have a wide loose neck but this is very nice stays up well . Fits nice and snug you don't want a loose 1st layer if top is loose the heat will escape . Happy with purchase nice quality

How does this shirt fair on the smell...

How does this shirt fair on the smell factor? Would it be too warm for hot southern summers (I'm from Texas)? I'm looking at the long sleeve for sun protection.

Responded on

It uses cocona technology to reduce the smell factor. Basically, it's activated carbon mixed in with the polyester that adsorbs the smell and releases it when it's washed. The great thing is that is actually gets better the more you wash it because more pores in the carbon open up. It might be a little warm for Texas summers, but the cocona also absorbs UV radiation.

little tight

Great fabric. Had to return due to size running one size smaller.

this is pretty awesome. very comfy and warm and i look pretty good in it. not much else i can say except it fits well and has no flaws, which is a pretty big deal in and of itself. this and the marmot lightweight bottom i picked up have made me a marmot brand whore.

Great Midweight

Got this as a replacement for a midweight crew I have been wearing for years. Totally impressed with the weight, fit and overall comfort during our first few weeks of cold temps in Utah. Can't wait to rock it as my base riding this season. A little loose in the collar, but you Ute linebackers are gonna be warm when you stomp on them fancy Cougars from Happy Valley!!

Great gear

This was amazing gear I got wet over the weekend and it dried out fast and kept me warm. It was nice.
