Marmot Kompressor Backpack - 1000 cu in - 2007 BCS

I took this pack to South Africa and it worked out great. I wanted something that could be balled up and stuffed inside another bag as carry-on in the plane. This bag worked very well. It comes with a stiff rubber sheet slid into a slot on the part that touches your back, I am guessing to help maintain its form while full, but it seemed pretty worthless to me and kept it from being waded up so I pulled it out and put it away. It is nice they left this up to me. The bag rarely looks like the picture because it is just a sack with straps, so it becomes the shape of whatever you put in it. This can be strange looking while carrying a strangely shaped object but who cares. It was also smaller than I anticipated but it holds a lot. I put a large slr camera, 2 water bottles, a lunch, and a fleece jacket all inside on a hike and it wasn't awkward or uncomfortable. As a side note that seals the deal for me, it has straps that can be configured in various ways to go over the shoulder, around the neck or classic backpack, that makes this bag a great little travel pack.

The compression system of this daypack makes it useful for a variety of loads. Only thing I would change would be to use a little heavier material for the pack, the current material is very lightweight but doesn't have much shape to it.
