Description

Insulated style for cool-weather activities in town or on the trail.

On cool fall hikes or chilly dawn patrol missions, the Marmot Women's Kitzbuhel Insulated Vest keeps your core continually cozy so you don't have to miss a minute of action. Whether you're strolling along Main Street, window-shopping, leaf-peeping on a tepid October day, or working off an extra slice of cake by skate-skiing up the road, this vest stands sentry against the cold without causing you to overheat.

The ripstop polyester shell can handle a few sticks and stones without getting roughed up, while stretchy fleece side panels go with the flow, rarely putting up resistance. Mid-loft Thermal R synthetic insulation offers warmth without a lot of weight, and a quilted pattern keeps the insulation in place, even after years of wear. Armhole skirts is not a new fashion phrase, and you'll never have to worry about the maxi trend making its way to your pits. Armhole skirts are extra fabric that reduce the gaping between the vest and your body, without feeling tight or squished.

An elastic drawcord at the hem keeps out pesky breezes, and zippered hand-warmer pockets hold your keys and mid-hike candy bar(s). In town, this vest takes cool-weather couture up a notch when paired with skinny jeans, fur-lined boots, and a cashmere turtleneck. For aerobic endeavors in cool weather, put the Kitzbuhel over a mid-weight baselayer and performance tights, and run through fallen leaves and misty mornings in comfort. Or, if you get your kicks on sticks, this vest fits nicely under a waterproof hardshell when you're blasting through mounds of fresh snow on every run.

  • Polyester ripstop
  • Thermal R insulation

nice vest

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

I read the reviews, and decided to get the bright berry in a size smaller than usual since everyone said it ran big. It really does, I think I could have gone down even another size, which might be a problem for some small people for which no XXS size exists. It does a good job at regulating your core body temperature. I plan to use it under my technical shell for snowboarding.

love the vest - don't love the color

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I originally bought this vest in black from a store close to my home. I loved it so much I ordered it in bright berry from Backcountry. Love it and the color too! Fits great and my backcountry order was here so fast. I decided to order it in sea glass and was disappointed in the color. The picture makes it look like a pretty bright turquoise blue. It's more in the teal green family. Reminds me of a doctor's office decorated in 80's. :(

Great gift, cute color!

  • Fit: True to size

Bought this as a gift for a relative- it's roomy enough for layers underneath and has a comfortable fit. The sea foam color is beautiful and the zippered pockets are convenient when hiking. Excellent and durable product- have stacked wood and thrown hay in it with no rips yet! Just wished this vest had the sleeve cuff to keep the wind out

Too big

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large

I first ordered a small and it was too big, so I then ordered a XS and it was still too big - I usually wear a size S/M - maybe some people like to wear layers under their vests which is why there was still so much room around my waist and arms, but I prefer my vests to be snug to keep cold air from creeping in.
