Year-round performance and casual feminine style are the specialties of the Marmot Women’s Kitzbuhel Insulated Vest. Warm, compressible PrimaLoft insulation and a trim, quilted design make this comfy core-warmer an essential ingredient for everything from a backcountry ski tour to a night out at the pub. Side stretch fleece panels add ventilation and enhance movement, and lined handwarmer pockets keep your digits toasty.
Bottom Line: Functional fashion for the streets or the backcountry.
I first bought this vest in Turtle Dove, which is sort of off-white. I normally stay away from white for fear of dirt, but I really liked the black side panels and the black lining on the collar, plus I figured that the off-white color would be more forgiving of dirt. The vest is a little shorter than I normally like, but it is a perfect length for layering under a jacket. I read other reviews where some people complained about the arms being too large, but the skirt helps keep wind out and I think that it is great for cushioning under a heavy pack. I liked this vest so much that I bought the light blue color as well! I plan on wearing these mostly for hiking in spring/fall (in the midwest) as my main warmth layer. This vest also has the Dri-Clime lined pockets which are so soft! This vest is very sleek and feminine and a good choice especially if you don't want to spend the money on an expensive down vest.
I bought this for my wife as she was looking for a versatile compressible vest that she could wear outside or layer. I looked at this vest from Marmot as well as the Patagonia Nano Puff Vest. I couldnt make up my mind so I bought both and let her decide. As soon as she tried on the Marmot Kitzbuhel vest it was clear that it didnt fit correctly. The cut on this vest was really short and my wife is not tall, 54 115lbs. She also didnt like the side panels on this vest as there was not a lot of protection from the elements in those areas. Bottom line this vest did not meet our expectations or needs.

I am returning this vest because the large roomy armholes have gathered gussets that looks like a stretched out shower cap. Yes, a shower cap with your arm coming out instead of your neck. The green is a bright chartreuse. Brighter than in photo. A great color for the vest but not for the big armhole solution. The armholes need something but i believe it to be a poor design decision. It does run big, though a short cut. Anyway, I rarely return items from BC.com. I praise the shopper who finds the great clothes sold on this site. Thank you.
We got our first snow today so I layered my Marmot Kitzbuhel over my TNF Wind Wall fleece to take the kids to the bus stop, it was 32° with light snow flurries, but I felt warm. The bus was late, we spent 25 minutes in the cold but I felt very comfortable in my vest, mind you, I didn't have on any hats or gloves, but I didn't feel cold.
I plan to use the vest as an outer layer for cold weather aerobic sports, and as a mid-layer for skiing. The vest is well-made, its outside pockets are fleece-lined thus very warm, while the 1 inside pocket holds keys, change & a full-sized iPod. As a bonus, the fit is very flattering.
I love this vest! It is warm and looks great! I get tons of compliments on it! It has a quilted outer layer, and then it has arm gussets to keep the chill out. Waist drawcord in front pockets is a great feature. I wear this ALL the time- under a ski jacket, over a light layer in the spring/fall... it is super versatile and very practical... highly recommended!
This is a great vest! I also have it in black, so I knew it would be wonderful! It is very comfortable and a perfect layering piece. I definitely recommend it!
This vest is very warm considering how thin and light it is. I am 5'8" / 135 lbs and I ordered a medium. It was actually a little too large which was surprising. It is also not very long so if you are long waisted - yikes! I got the black one which is sort of a "soft" black. Since it's not big and puffy I can see where the bold colors would look pretty cool too.
