Weather conditions in the mountains are hard to predict, so Marmot designed the Women's Julia Component Jacket to give you versatile options to match the conditions of the day. On cold days, you can wear the waterproof shell with the Thermal R Liner jacket zipped in to stay toasty warm. If the temps start to rise, simply remove the liner jacket and you still have a great shell to keep you dry and comfortable. Plus, the liner jacket worn on its own will fit right in at the après scene after your last run.

Sleeves too short

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I just bought this jacket in Medium. I am 5'7", 140 lbs and I thought that the fit through the waist was comfortable and flattering, but the sleeves are too short and it is tight across the shoulders. While the hood fits over a helmet it is quite snug and it made the jacket ride up even more.

I have other Marmot jackets in M that fit great.

Disappointing jacket

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

I sent this jacket back. Bummer, since I love the orange color and the double layer thickness. My main complaint with this item is the front zipper and the pocket zippers. The zipper pulls are small and NOT easy to use when wearing ski gloves or mittens. In addition, the front zipper is what I would refer to as a fashion zipper- flat, small, with little zipper teeth. It stuck twice the first time I put the jacket on. How is that supposed to be functional all day long on the mountain? The useless little zippers make this jacket a non starter for me.

For 350.00, I expect more. Hey Marmot, make a rugged women's ski jacket!

Marmot Julia

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I've always been happy w Marmot gear.

I bought the Marmot Julia for my daughter and I love that she gets 2 or 3 great jackets for the price of one. Well made & she is ready to take it out on the slopes.

The shell looks great & the insulated jacket is perfect.

Has anyone else gotten this jacket in...

Has anyone else gotten this jacket in Electric Blue? I just got it in the mail, but it is actually a bright purple, not blue. Are all of Marmot's items in "Electric Blue" this bright purple color?

Your eyes do not deceive you, but it appears that the color name has. While "Electric Blue" is considered by the clothing industry in general and by Marmot specifically to be a shade of blue, it is in fact what red blooded American men like myself would call deep purple. My wife tried to buy me an Electric Blue suit one time but luckily I saw it and kept the receipt firmly in hand.

I imagine it looks quite nice on the ladies, but if this color is not something you can see yourself parading around your local ski slopes, please contact our customer service Gearheads by chat or phone and we will help you set up a return.
