Does this fold into a pocket?

Hullo Patty.
This does not stuff into it's own pocket.
I have the North Face Diez down jacket and that one does compress down into its own pocket.

Cute color but funny fit.

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

I gave this jacket to my sister as a gift. She is always cold and would have worn this jacket inside (yes, she's a bit nutty) if the fit had been better. The color (electric blue) was great and until she put it on, she was sold. Per her words, this jacket "just fits me funny and I'm not usually picky." I bought her the SM, and she's 5'.

LOVE this coat!

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I've never purchased a Marmot product before but loved the look of this jacket so decided to give it a try. Living in Texas where we have mild winters, I wanted something warm but lighter weighted so it would get plenty of use. This is exactly what I was looking for. The fit is cute and stylish and the lime green is very vivid which I love. I ordered a small (I'm 5'2" and 115lbs) so I would have room for sweaters/sweatshirts under and its perfect. Fitted just enough without being bulky. I get TONS of compliments on it. Now I'm trying to come up with a reason to buy a second!

Warm and Stylish

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

I gave my wife this jacket for Christmas and it has become pretty much the only jacket she wears. It's as stylish as it is warm and she has received many compliments on the color (she has the electric blue, which is really more of a bright and radiant purple). The only thing to be aware of is the fit is close on the hips.

What is the amount of fill?

Hey KJ! I talked to you earlier, but so others know too, Marmot doesn't release fill weight. They feel that the total weight is enough. I'm not sure i agree with them, but...

I'm 5'7"/135 lbs, have long arms/torso

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I ordered an orange 'large' thinking it's a longer sleeve - it fit more like an 'extra large' with very wide body and ok sleeve length. I exchanged it for a 'medium' which fits well in the body, though the sleeves could be a 1/4-1/2" longer for my preference. Also would have preferred a two-way zipper which are lacking in too many quality women's products - actually 2-way zips should be in all activewear. Love the color, and am looking forward to layering it with my shell for a true trial test skiing in Colorado.

Fun, Functional and totally Fabulous!

I've always been impressed with Marmot products and the Jena jacket delivers on every level. It is very lightweight, warm, rain resistant and compresses well. It wears nicely with a pack and can double as a pillow after a long day on the trail. It has a nice slim fit and the Electric Blue color is more of a beautiful radiant purple. The Jena goes from the trail to town with fashionable flair. I've worn it with everything from hiking pants to a black dress and it always looks great. I am petite and busty. The small fits really well. I have enough room to layer with a fleece or sweater. The Jena is a great jacket at a reasonable price point.

Just what I was looking for...

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

I bought this in the red. I had been looking for a red down jacket for over a year. I am 6'2 so it isn't easy finding one that has long enough sleeves and falls below the hips. I have a Marmot rain shell and it is long and the sleeves are perfect so I was hoping this was the same. I bought a medium and a larger; I am normally a medium but the chest area was VERY tight (I am about a 36A) so I kept the large. It is big in the arms but the length is perfect. I have worn it in 15 degree New England weather and so far so good. I can also throw it in my gym bag and it isn't bulky.

Perfect

Love this jacket. Stayed warm in sub zero.
I wear a size 4-6. Went with a medium for the longer sleeve length and more room in the shoulders. Perfect fit.

Wanted to love this jacket

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I did a lot of searching before honing in on the Marmot Jena. I read that it was fitted to a woman's proportions which sounded perfect. However, this is not the case. Too tight in the chest and too tight in the hips. Very sorry this seems to be the case with descriptions of most of the down jackets I have checked reviews on. Does someone do it right?

disappointed !

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

This jacket has been my go to jacket for about 4 years. So I thought I would try it again in another color. I love the color but it seems to fit a bit more snug than the older jacket. So needless to say I have only worn it a couple of times ! Bummer.
I would give it a 2.5 stars but there isnt one.

disappointing to say the least

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I bought this jacket last winter and have had it about a year so I can't speak to the most recent model. I wanted something that I can wear as an outer layer when it's not as cold, but would layer well and pack down small. I wish I had bought something different. I really like Marmot and love my sleeping bag so I figured I would try it out. Within a week of wearing around town it was leaking down and had a rip. I'm pretty nice to my stuff and have equipment from years ago, so I can't for the life of me figure out how it happened. It is very warm for the weight so I continued using it and it just has more and more problems. I was carrying a backpack with it (an Osprey with a computer) and now I have a large rip in the back. I get that you want to have a lighweight item, but I think it should be able to stand up to carrying a backpack and walking around without a Gore-Tex shell on top.

Awesome

Got this for the wifey and she loves it. Peeps are always commenting on the color which is awesome. Also it is plenty warm for around the town or a night up in PC for some dinner.

stylish and warm

This jacket does the trick. Keeps you warm without the bulk. Very light and easy to pack.

Love it!

Warm, light. Better fit than my old marmot. It has a waist! I am a 14 and ordered the xl. I am fat in the middle and it fits great!

Tight in the hips

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I LOVE this jacket and get tons of compliments on it! The electric blue is sort of royal and sort of purple. It is really cool!
My only complaint is that it is a little tight in the hips if it is zipped up. This jacket is longer than the Patagonia Down Sweater and that is why I bought it. I just wish there was a little more room on the bottom seam.

marmot jena jacket

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

love the jacket...fits smaller, so I had to go with an XL. I am 5'5'' and 165 lbs. Needed the larger size to be able to wear something underneath. It's very light and warm. Worth the money!!

Electric Blue is darker than the picture

The Electric Blue variant is actually a purple color, it is much darker than depicted in this image.

Warm, light, packable

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This jacket is a perfect midlayer for the backcountry. It's light, packs up super small, is warm and so far has no down loss. It also fits perfectly under a marmot rain shell. Great jacket.

Do you feel then it would not be warm enough on its own in fairly chilly conditions?
