Marmot put together a waterproof breathable shell and synthetic insulated liner to create the three-in-one Women’s Intervale Component Jacket. This versatile piece handles anything from a day in town to a weekend on the slopes to a week in the high mountains. You can wear both parts of the Intervale Component Jacket together in really wet and cold weather, or use the shell and liner separately to meet the needs of whatever conditions you’re experiencing.

Bottom Line: For just about anything (as long as it’s not warm and sunny).

Best coat ever! Marmot fan for life!

I needed a heavier winter jacket that I could use for many purposes as well as every day use, and this one was it! This is honestly the best coat I have ever owned. The Thermal-r layer is very warm and attractive enough to wear on its own. I have zipped out the Thermal-r layer a few times when hiking in 20 degree weather (and just worn the outer layer) because it can be too warm when you are doing aerobic activity. The Thermal-r layer packs down nicely to shove in a pack as well. The outer layer performs great in the rain and is a nice length as well. The pit-zips are handy and easy to zip on your own. I love the Dri-Clime lining on the collar and in the pockets as well. The only negative of this jacket is that the inner layer is about 2 inches shorter than the outer layer and you can sometime see the line where the inner layer ends from the outside of the outer layer. This is a minor thing IMO, however it happens to fall right where the Marmot logo is at the bottom of the jacket, and it kind of obscures the logo. The hood is detachable, but I haven't found a need to detach it yet. There is a cinch adjustment on the back of the hood to size it so you can actually see out if it when the hood is up! I bought the black color because I wanted a neutral jacket to wear for any occasion. This jacket is sleek, sophisticated, and very feminine. I have worn in everyday for 3 months and it still looks brand new! Overall a great product.

I'm looking to buy this for my daughter. She is 5'5"

I'm looking to buy this for my daughter. She is 5'5" and 133 lbs. Usually she wears a Small, but on things that are slim fitting she needs a Medium. Any advice on the fit of this jacket - is it roomy or more slim fitting?

Awesome...all you really ever need

All you really need...ever.
Bought this jacket a few years ago and cannot say enough good things about it. Durable, great quality construction, breathable. I am 5'3 and 90 lbs and the x small leaves me with more than enough room to add different components. Pair it with an awesome baselayer and hit the slopes.I've used mine for extensive hikes and backpacking and all around work in Wyoming winters. It's like my American Express card....I wouldn't leave home without it. I bought it online and the olive green color ( think its called sage) was a bit misleading, it is actually more of a light grass/lime green.

How long is the jacket? Does it fall to just below the waist?

How long is the jacket? Does it fall to just below the waist? At the hips? It's hard to tell from the pictures & description.

I'm 5'5" and the small hits me right at the hips. It's not short, but it's certainly not oversized either.

Warm Jacket

By:
January 12, 2010

Even if everyone with me is cold when it dips below 20, with both layers in, this jacket has kept me warm and comfortable. It could get a little warmer than desired with much activity, but it's easy to wear just one of the layers when that happens.

I agree with another reviewer that the underlayer runs a little shorter than the outer, which hits about right on me, and I run around average. And I did get an occasional draft up the back while skiing, but the jacket itself was totally waterproof and windproof. Overall, I'm very pleased with it.

Waterproof?
I am wandering if this jacket is 100% waterproof, cause I intend to use it in cold but extremely wet conditions.

This jacket is awesome!

I was a little apprehensive about buying a jacket online without trying it on, seeing it, feeling it but I took the chance and ordered this jacket and I LOVE IT! Its not bulky and has a nice feminine fit. I am 5'5, 150 lbs and the L fit great. The length hits me right bottom of my hips and covers my bum. With the inner liner, it feels a little tighter, but can be removed for a loose fit. Haven't taken it to the slopes yet but I am sure it will be warm. Lots of pockets.

AMAZING jacket

By:

I seriously cannot say enough how much I love this jacket. It is comfortable, allows you to move your body and is not big and bulky like other jackets. And yet, its amazingly warm. You only need a base layer under this jacket to be warm but with definite breathability. There are plenty of pockets for what you would need for an average day on the slopes, the powder skirt is useful...All in all I could not be happier!

I give this one 5 stars

I was looking specifically for a component jacket that I could buy with both pieces, and I did a lot of research - i looked at North Face, Columbia, even LL Bean and Lands End! I wanted it to be both very warm and the outer shell very waterproof, but without loosing the attractiveness of the jacket. I was sold on this one because of the attractive interior layer. I bought this in the Blue, and I LOVE the inner jacket. The outer jacket does its job too, but I always get compliments when I wear that light blue jacket around. I'm 5'9 and curvy, and I have very long arms, but I was pleasantly surprised that the jacket fit very well - the sleeve length was almost perfect and it has a flattering flair shape through the body that made my curves look nice instead of big and boxy (however, the waist isn't fitted). Nonetheless, I am SO happy with this jacket and I would definitely recommend it. I'm currently in Asheville, NC and its 30 degrees right now with a chance of snow, so this jacket is being put to the test! And I will definitely say, it's passing with flying colors.

Great Jacket

By:
February 20, 2009

I bought the chive jacket (L) (~$115 on SteepandCheap) and it was definitely worth it. I am 5'10 w/ longer arms, and while the inner jacket is a tad short in the arms, the outer shell more than covers it. Inner jacket is a good for spring/fall temps, shell hood is removable (zipper), pockets are lined with soft fabric... The only complaint is I would like another pocket or two. Both layers have 2 outer and 1 inner pocket.
