You’d love to wear a 650-fill down jacket skiing, but you don’t want the down to get soggy when it starts to snow. The Marmot Women’s Ignition Down Jacket has you covered.

  • MemBrain waterproof breathable fabric helps repel flurries
  • Powder skirt blocks snow on pow days
  • Zip-off hood reduces bulk when the skies are clear
  • Angel-Wing movement means you can raise your arms without the jacket’s torso popping up
  • Curved seam lines help prevent the puff-ball look

Bottom Line: Warm and dry.

Ignition has more loft and so is a warmer jacket than the Ama Dablam.

I love this coat! It is super warm! It is fitted so it does not look bulky. I ordered a medium and I am fairly tall. It fits me pretty well but if you have long arms you might want to try a large. I like the fact that it packs into a stuff sack nicely. I do a lot of hiking and I usually need a warm jacket on the way out, but I do not want to carry a heary jacket. Well worth the money!!

Yes, down can compress quite a bit, however, due to it's waterproof/breathable Membrain shell, it's a bit bulkier and less air permeable than other down jackets without waterproof/breathable shells. Also, it doesn't have a pocket that the jacket is designed to stuff into. Check out the Marmot women's guides down sweater if you're looking for something a bit more stuff-able.
