this jacket is awesome. it sheds rain like its nothing even in the worst of downpours. i love that the pockets have two zippers which is really practical. looks great too. im 5'10 and 140 and the small works great for me. There is not much room for layering but i wanted this for a warm weather shell and i like the fit a lot better than any other shell i tried on

People of the same height and weight can can vastly different body types. I suggest comparing your chest and waist measurements against the sizing chart below the price. Best of luck!

Does this jacket have the same "athletic" fit as some of the other Marmot jackets like the Super Mica? Or is it more generous cut like the Precip?
The Hyper Jacket is an athletic fit, but due to it's super stretchy fabric, it is easy to move in or layer under,

Can someone give me the arm lengths from armpit to wrist cuff for the size L and XL .
The jacket looks perfect for mtb bike-packing .
But will the fabric/membrane hold up to wearing a backpack weighing 10-15 kg + ?
+ I`d be shouldering/carrying my bike slung on my backpack
crosswise from time to time.

Ok guys, would this north face be almost the same? I have seen the Hyper in person and the soft stretchy fabric is awesome, wondering if this is same type of stretch? Almost exact price.
They are similar. Both use house brand waterproof breathable laminates, should breathe about the same and provide the same protection. The Marmot Hyper will be stretchier, though.

How durable is this jacket? I'm trying to decide between the Super Mica and Hyper and if the additional weight is worth it. Also I have a sizing question: being tall and slim (6'5" and 150 lbs) am I better off getting a medium or large?
Since the Marmot Hyper Jacket has a straight up nylon outer shell and the Marmot Super Mica Jacket has the MemBrain Strata shell, the Super Mica would be more durable. Also, you would definitely want to start with a Large in this case for being 6'5", 150.
This jacket is waterproof like a boss. It is so soft, stretchy and smooth yet completely impenetrable. It is also ridiculously light and packs down to about the size of a small pumello/large grapefruit. It has become my go to shell for wet, windy, or cold situations. I'm 5'10 and 155ish lbs and the medium is a perfect athletic fit, although it is a bit snug over my Marmot Zeus (also a medium). Fits perfectly over my Nano Puff and North Face Khumbu (both medium). The material is much more durable than other rain shells and has held up through bushwhacking and even Joshua Tree monzogranite. Definitely stretchy enough for unencumbered climbing. No pit zips, but the jacket is so breathable I don't miss them at all. Also the pockets are huge, they go all the way up to your neck with solid waterproof zippers. I exchanged my North Face Venture for this jacket because it soaked through after 20 minutes on a drizzly trail and every time I rode by bike through rain and now I couldn't be happier. I definitely recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a great, lightweight, soft, stretchy, quiet, impenetrable shell for their system.

Does it have armpit zips?
This jacket does not have pit zips, although it does have two very large side pockets.
This thing is way better than described or how it looks on a hanger.
No clue this thing would be so stretchy. Or this water proof. Fit is exceptional as well. A best buy @ $200.
