Marmot Gear Loft - One Size Fitts All - 2008 BCS
Available Colors / Styles
When you use up all the floor space in your Marmot tent, turn to the Gear Loft for more storage. This nylon mesh attic clips into any Marmot tent to provide an off-the-floor space to stash your gear. The Gear Loft also makes an excellent place to dry gloves, socks, and other goodies that got soaked during the day.
Bottom Line: If you run out of floor space, build an attic with the Marmot Gear Loft.

Gear lofts in general are wonderful things, I have spent lots of time in an REI Taj 3 and MH Trango 3 where the gear lofts and pockets are like gold. I have a high regard for Marmot products and was expecting this gear loft to fit my Aura snugly and with little effort.
Unfortunately, the four attachment points in the Aura form a rhombus, and this square gear loft fits quite poorly. The fact that the suspension cords are made of elastic bungee compounds the problem; if the loft is loaded at all, it sinks significantly and the loft bunches up around the sides. This bungee cord and toggles also weigh 28 of the gear loft's 67 total grams, and would not be necessary if marmot offered tent-specific lofts.
Also worth noting; the design of the Aura is such that when weighted, the loft creates tension at the attachment points, which collapses the two shorter poles inward, creating slack in the mesh tent body and reducing interior space. My solution was to do some modification to the loft, I removed the bungee altogether and extended the clips from 2 corners with two pieces of nylon line. I put the other two clips directly through the other two corners. This reduces weight (now at 40g), bulk, and creates a better fit.
Bottom line: If you must have a loft for your Marmot tent, this one will work, but be prepared for a project.
Change me.

We have a lot more Gear Loft and Vestibules than that
Gear Loft and VestibulesVery useful
I wasn't sure if I wanted one of these...at first. Now that I have one, I almost can't imagine going without. I keep small essentials, like my more...
Very Adjustable
Lines can be pulled very tight in many directions. Haven't tested the mesh durability yet.. but looks standard. I am not sure how much i will use this..probably more...
