Description

They can take your pass, but they can never take your FREEEEEEDOOM!

Marmot made the Men's Freerider Jacket with waterproof-and-breathable Gore-Tex Performance fabric for charging into endless storm cycles that drop wet, heavy snow on your local resort. A grip of pockets hold your small essentials, venting keeps you cool, and Angel-Wing construction gives this jacket serious range of motion so you won't feel restricted while you pole across long traverses. Bust this shell out when you need a go-to resort jacket for winter's darkest days.
  • Gore-Tex Performance 2L fabric is durable, lightweight, and waterproof and breathable so you stay dry on the outside and won't feel clammy underneath
  • Angel-Wing Movement construction allows for supreme range of motion in the upper body, allowing you to easily pole, reach, and climb as necessary
  • PitZips underarm zips allow you to vent excess heat when you get a little hot under the collar
  • HD Brushed tricot collar and shoulder lining provide an additional measure of warmth and comfort
  • Elastic drawcord hem and adjustable hook-and-loop cuff closures seal out the elements

Marmot is the Best!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This jacket is awesome! I bought the Sunset Orange for hunting in North Dakota in minus zero weather. I had 3 layers on and my hunting vest on the outside and never got cold even when it was -22F. Kept out the snow and wind and was very flexible. Hood fits great too! I coupled it with a quality but thin base layer and a Patagonia micro puff insulating sweater. Patagonia also has a new micro puff hybrid that matches the color that I purchased. Perfect combo in extreme cold.

The pockets on this jacket are the best and right where they should be. Marmot put their heart and soul into this one.

Love Marmot!

Super ski jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

What I like the most is that the Large fits me perfectly. I am 6' 3" and 212 lbs. It's long enough in the sleeves and torso. When skiing hard the pit zips vent very well, and there was no interior condensation. Very happy with this product and highly recommend.
PS. If you carried Bogner then the fashionista wife also be a customer! ;)

Trying to figure out what size for my husband as he may be in-between a M and a L. 5'9" 158. 16.5" neck and 42" chest

Responded on

You described dimensions similar to to me, he sounds like he might a little more stocky in the chest. Based on the sizing chart it points towards him being in a Large and since thats the normal jacket size I stick with I will back that up with personal experience.

Marmot Freerider jacket

I actually bought this jacket twice!! The first time I got it, I was a little stunned by the lime green color. I left it draped on a dining room chair in hopes it wold grow on me. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this jacket - I just wasn't sure about the color.
Not certain I could handle the color - I ended up returning it. A few months later, I saw it again and I began to question if I made the right decision to return it, then it went on sale. I decided I liked it enough at the better price. I love the feel of the jacket! It fits perfectly, all of the pockets are great!! I've see some say there aren't enough pockets. I'm not sure how many you need, but it has two for hands, one high on the chest, one on the sleeve and one mesh pocket inside the jacket. I really like the one on the sleeve and I also like the pit zips. I've even grown fond of the color - it definitely stands out!! So far, I've only used it as a rain jacket, but I'm really looking forward to wearing it in the snow!! I can definitely recommend this jacket and I'm really glad I bought it the second time around - especially on sale!! Now that I've had it a few months - I have no issues with it - no flaws what so ever!!!

great jacket

Great jacket. No warmth in it, but worked well with layers. Loved the minimal design and lack of pockets. Helmet compatible with my G10. Def recommend.

Great shell!

I wore this snowboarding in summit county for a few days and it performed very well. I insulated it with a fleece pull over and it was very warm and totally wind proof. The hood easily slipped over my helmet. No mp3 pocket is a bummer but other then that jacket is great

Hi, i have 2 questions:
1) Guaranteed Waterproof/breathability means what rating?
2) do you ship to HK?
Thanks!

Responded on

1.) GoreTex does not provide a rating they simply state waterproof/breathable guaranteed (my guess is the number is in the high 20+k/20+k).
2. ) We do indeed ship to HK. The full list of countries we ship to can be found here. http://sales.liveperson.net/hc/s-9551721/cmd/kbresource/kb-3362437495286545774/view_question!PAGETYPE?sc=121&sp=94&sf=101133&documentid=239530&action=view&VisitorProfile=BCS2&MESSAGEVAR!home=yes&MESSAGEVAR!cookie=no&MESSAGEVAR!docid=239530

Hey Eldo, please tell me does this jacket has wrist gaiters? And one more question, I am 176cm (~5 feet 9 inches) 73 kg (~160 pounds) what size should I take?
Tks.

Responded on

I'm 175cm and 91kg (ooops) ;) and I ordered XL and have good place under to wear a thick sweater , so I guess for you L would be good..... Sleeve is a little shorter but it will fit you good since my sleeves are also almost little too big which I actually don't mind anyway..... Just sayin' that they should be still long enough for you.
So "L" my man......
In worst case scenario you just send the jacket back and they will send you the requested by you size.....
Just don't tear any tags before you're 100% sure you gonna keep the jacket...

Very little. It has a tricot lining on the collar and shoulder.

Responded on

Bomber Construction but it is a shell, you"ll have to add your own base and mid layers.

i really like this jacket, it looks sharp. but dont know about the sizing. i have the Threshold softshell in Small, which fits me perfectly with just a T-shirt underneath and there is still room for a not-heavy-weight fleece or similar.(i dont like bulky one). Can anyone confirm if i go with Small on this jacket, will it fit? i am short but not very slim (5'7, and 155 lbs)

Responded on

I'm (5"9' 145 lbs.) I wear the small and have plenty of room for a base and mid layer underneath. I may have a slimmer build though, 30" waist and 39" chest.
