Built with input from climbing superhero Tommy Caldwell, the Marmot Men’s Estes Pant gives climbers stretchy comfort for cool-weather cragging and long alpine rock routes. The quick-drying nylon fabric has a touch of elastane to keep you unrestricted during high-steps, stems, and jams. A gusseted crotch increases your range of motion, and a side cargo pocket stashes your topo or energy bar.

Bottom Line: A functional, stretchy bottom for cool-weather climbing.

Nice pants

These pants are really comfortable, and durable. I think they look pretty sharp too, but they do run small.

Good, but sizing is way off

By:
June 22, 2009

I really like this pair of pants, very comfortable, good construction, look nice. They are a medium/light weight streachy nylon. I wear a 32 waist normally, I ordered the 30 Long and it was still way to big in the waist. This may only be a problem with this paticular size, but it is a shame as they really are nice otherwise.

Sizing???

By:
July 9, 2009

I ordered these in a 32 long and the waist was more like a 34 and the inseam was way short! I was hoping it was going to fit like a normal 32x35 pant but it was more like a 34x32. Beware when buying these! Unless your an overweight dwarf, then the sizing may fit. Otherwise the material and quality seemed superb! I just wish I could get a pair that fit me! I guess being 6'4" qualifies you as being a freak when it comes to buying pants!

Great pants, +1 on the sizing being off

By:
July 2, 2009

These pants are great. I was looking for a light-weight pair of pants that breathe and also block the wind. I found everything I was looking for in these. I agree with the person who said they run large. I ordered my size and they are at least two inches too big in the waist and an inch too long. The backcountry on-line advisor also told me they were water resistant, they are not. Overall, these are great pants and I would highly recommend them

Favorite pair of pants

Another excellent product by Marmot. These pants are tough as nails and allow a ton of leg movement without restriction. I'm 6'4" 180lbs and the 34long fits perfectly. Good for climbing or just lounging around. The only very minor drawback is the zip-up back pockets, but some may like that.
