Marmot Essence Jacket - Women's - 2006 BCS

I was disappointed because the jacket did not have a separate mesh type liner. I'm from the south and use a rain jacket quite often for hiking, camping, and going shopping, however; I would not want to wear this one in the summer because I could imagine the jacket sticking to my bear arms underneath. Also found it tight around the breast area and want to be able to wear fleece underneath on those nights I go camping further North. Decided on another with pit zips. It did look great though.

The Essence Jacket packs really small, but you sacrifice pit zips. It would be the ultimate rain jacket if they were made with pit zips.

Great jacket! I live in Charleston, SC where the temperatures are frequently in the 90's throughout the spring, summer and into the fall. The Essence jacket is perfect for the frequent rainstorms here, when my previous jacket was simply too heavy and hot to be comfortable. Although the Essence jacket is ultra-lightweight, it is not any less waterproof than my heavier Marmot Precip jacket. Plus, the Essence is small enough to carry tucked into my book bag unobtrusively.
