If you seek the solitude and untracked terrain of the mountains, slip your legs into the Marmot Edge Pant. Its waterproof, breathable Marmot MemBrain and fully taped seams have no problem handling deep pow turns while its thigh vents release excess heat.

  • Brushed tricot seat and thighs for comfort
  • A loose fit allows you unrestricted mobility when you skin up the track or perfect your tele turns
  • Removable suspenders and an adjustable waist with snap closure and zip fly offer you a just-right fit
  • Zip leg cuffs with internal flex boot gaiters block out snow and allow the Edge to fit easily over your boots
  • Cordura cuffs for durability
  • Multiple pockets stash your small touring essentials

Bottom Line: Forget riding chairlifts and head into the backcountry.

Outstanding pants!

East Coast tele skier who spends a ton of time both resort and BC. After wearing out a pair of Mountain Hardwear 3L GTex pants that I had for 5 seasons, and trashing a pair of Patgonias over the next 2, I assumed I would end up with a pair of GoreTex pro shell pants. I have a Marmot shell that is bombproof and looked at the Marmot line. The Edge pant stuck out, so I took a shot.

After several days out this season, these are my new favorite! Great Marmot quality (as always)! Great fit, super comfortable, nice length. They let you move but aren't baggy like a park-rat's low riders. I like the high waist and suspenders without the restriction of a bib. I'm 5'11", 170#, 33 inseam and the large fits perfectly.

These are definitely tough pants. Material seems like it will hold up for years, even the cuff, which is a weak spot on a lot of pants I've owned. Not superlight alpine climbing pants, but that's not what they're for. They are warm but not insulated so will definitely work some spring.

In a nutshell: way better than I expected. Look great, tough, comfortable and fit awesome. Perfect hardcore ski pant. Another winner from Marmot and Backcountry.

Hey there, the inseam on the large is 32.5 inches and on the XL it is 33 inches; this is for regular size... they do make short/tall sizes in these pants as well...

Heavy + Awkward Fit

By:
December 2, 2011

I agree with the other reviewer here- the pant has a very wide fit that looks kind of silly. Most people buying a small are going to be smaller than that! I also thought the pant was needlessly heavy. That said, the boot cuff was wide enough to fit around any boot.

I also ended up returning them and buying the OR Axcess pant, which I think is a better product.
