The Marmot Men’s Edge Jacket didn’t get its name for nothing. An athletic fit, waterproof breathable Membrain fabric, and tons of useful pockets set this jacket apart from everyday, middle-of-the-road outerwear.
- Membrain fabric blocks snow and water while letting perspiration escape
- Fully taped seams prevent melted snow from leaking in
- PitZips provide aggressive ventilation when needed
- Powder skirt seals out snow at the waist and zips off when not needed
- Drawcord hem blocks wind
- Angel Wing Movement allows full range of arm motion w/o jacket lift
Bottom Line: Prefers ridges, summits, and out-of-bounds areas.

We're rating this jacket with four stars instead of five, simply because it's new and only been worn once. But so far, so good! It could earn five stars yet!
I bought this jacket for my husband, to replace his gazillion-year old mountaineering jacket (which was also a Marmot). He is very happy with the Edge.
The color is nice, and it fits very well. There isn't excess fabric in the torso or arm areas, so you get lots of movement. The fabric is very waterproof, but breathable. During a hard day of skiing, he stayed dry and warm.
He hasn't taken it mountaneering or ice climbing yet, but he's excited to try it out doing something more than just skiing.
