Part of Marmot's UpCycle program, the Women's DriClime Catalyst Jacket uses recycled fabrics to give you the top-notch performance you expect without harming the environment. That juice bottle you tossed into the recycling today could be part of a Catalyst Jacket by next month. On the technical side of things, this Marmot jacket features a totally windproof and highly breathable shell that's ideal for anything from running to backpacking to hiking. The Catalyst even comes with a sleeve pocket designed to hold your iPod for days when you need a little extra inspiration to go the last mile.

Bottom Line: The Marmot DriClime Catalyst Jacket—better than bottle in a landfill.

Is the Marmot DriClime Jacket (Catalyst) good for skiing ?
I need something that breathes and is very waterproof at the same time.

I wouldn't recommend it for winter skiing. Possibly spring skiing if you don't fall often. The shell won't stand up to repeated contact with water but will hold up well against wind and cold (40s).

Bought this for my daughter, who has just taken-up running. Gave her a P'gonia Hoodini a few years ago, and - while it is one of the most effective outdoor garments ever made - this jacket looks a lot better on a good looking woman.

Other than looks, the jacket works really well for a person who runs in bad weather, but for only a half-hour or so. Warmish, windproofish, rain resistantish. If you run longer, want better protection in a much lighter garment, and don't really care how cute you look, than get the Hoodini. It's 5 stars for sure.

Looking for a running jacket for Ontario along stormy Lake Huron

Looking for a running jacket for Ontario along stormy Lake Huron for the winter. Average temp. about -8 to -15 with dips to -25...lots of snow at times and BIg wind. Would this be ok?

This is an 11oz jacket so no way unless you're way more hardy than me.
Its basically a wind resistant jacket that has a lightweight fleecy interior that is meant to be worn close to the skin.
If you're pumping out a lot of heat on your runs then a lightweight fleece and a wind jacket might cut it.
Otherwise if its really really cold and you're running try something like the mountain hardware compressor jacket AND a basic wind jacket on top.

Great Jacket....nice construction, two lined side pockets and plenty of length. The women's medium fits perfectly, I am 5'4" 120 and still have room for a light layer underneath. The Sweetpea green is very, very vivid. Much brighter than deplicted and almost neon. You will be seen in the green!!!

waterproof in african rainstorm

The size chart was true and the jacket fit beautifully. I got it in white and it washes up perfectly. It kept me dry in an African rainstorm but overall was too thin (to my taste) for 60 degree weather.

The catalyst is about an 1" longer than the original, has 2 hand warmer pockets instead of a single chest pocket, stretch panels on the side and under the arms and has a draw cord at the hem. It has a looser cut and best of all is made of recycled polyester. As the names say, the original is more of a windshirt, while the catalyst is more of a jacket.

Is the Marmot DriClime Catalyst Jacket for Women lined in the interior?

Yes, it's lined with Marmot's Driclime, which is a bi-component knit- great for wicking and adds some warmth. Think of it as a very light and thin fleece lining.
