So great I have it in 2 colors!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

For me, the cut is great- I tend to have lots in my pockets- and it somehow looks flattering even then. I am tall and fit, usually wear a L or XL, definitely went for the XL in this one. Sleeves are perfect and I love that the hood rolls up into the collar/pocket.

Terrific buy!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

After much online research, I found this Marmot jacket for an incredible price, and despite the fact that the color didn't turn me on, bought it. Definitely NOT a mistake - this is a terrific product, and turns out that the neutral color will work with everything I wear.

Obviously a high-quality rain jacket, that's long enough to stop just above the knees. Light and feels extremely comfortable.

The on-line chat person advised me that the Marmot products run small, and suggested an XL, but I went with the Large, which is fine and will accommodate a light summer sweater.

Extremely pleased with Backcountry's superb service and this product.

City to Country, This Coat Rocks

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I wear this coat to kids soccer games, riding my bike and to work and it works in all settings. Nice lean, shaped cut, it can easily be dressed up or down. AND, its water proof.
I am 5'5", about 130lb and I ordered an XS. Great fit with either a sweater, fleece or t-shirt underneath. If I were to layer with a light weight down, I would go up a size.

Too small

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

I really wanted to wear this coat, but it was much too small, even though I ordered a size larger than I usually wear. I had to send it back.

Odd sizing

  • Gender: Female

Bought this as an awesome deal on SAC. I was very excited to receive it, and very disappointed with the way it actually fit. Quality and materials were great, but sizing was off. I normally wear a size 4, and am a slim build. My measurements came closest to the Small, at 5'7" and 122 lbs, so ordered a S. The body of the coat is way too wide and not at all tailored, with an odd flare at the bottom, yet the sleeves are barely long enough. I wasn't looking for tight, as sometimes it's nice to throw a softshell underneath. I think I should stick to Mountain Hardwear, who make clothes for slim women, because deals are really no longer deals when you're paying an extra $15 in shipping to and from!

I'm totally agree & wish I had heeded your advice. My build is similar to you and I also ordered a S. It looks ridiculous on --way baggy in the torso. I'm afraid if I size smaller it will be too tight in the top & sleeves. I think I'm going to suck up the cost of return shipping & go to a store to get something that actually fits well.
