Description

Early bird gets the worm or pristine powder runs.

When most people are drooling on their pillows you're approaching the peak as the sun rises in your freshie-loving Marmot Women's Dawn Patrol Jacket. It can be frigid starting your day in the dark, so you have the efficient warmth of Thermal R; to combat the snow, sleet, or full-on dumping storm you're armed with two layers of guaranteed waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex. In milder weather you can zip off the storm hood and powder skirt and open up the PitZips to travel a little lighter and cooler. Plentiful pockets keep you stocked and organized with your goggles, sunglasses, media player, and other essential doodads.

  • Durable two-layer Gore-Tex is waterproof and breathable—guaranteed for all-day, season-after-season dry comfort
  • Fully taped seams prevent leaks and drafts from sneaking in
  • Polyester Thermal R insulation provides resilient, mid-loft warmth
  • HD brushed tricot collar and shoulder lining feels cozy next to skin
  • Regular fit is roomy for freedom of movement without being bulky or baggy; Angel-Wing Movement provides unhindered arm mobility
  • PitZips underarm vents with water-resistant zippers dump excess heat while riding up a storm or on a hike
  • Zip-off storm hood protects the noggin from the elements when you need it
  • Zip-off powder skirt keeps snow from filling your jacket, when you need it
  • Elastic drawcord hem and adjustable hook-and-loop cuffs keep snow and leaks out with a snug fit
  • Sleeve, chest, and two hand pockets with water-resistant zippers secure and protect essentials
  • Zippered sunglasses, internal media, and mesh gear and goggle pockets keep everything you need right where you want it

Does the job very well!

When I first got the coat, I wasn't too sure about the material. It seemed too soft, too supple and not sturdy and will it be warm enough?. I was proven wrong on all accounts. With a single base layer, and 16F (-7C), the coat kept me cozy. Crashing through the glades and down black diamonds, this coat stood up to the beatings!
The sizing is true to it's claim. I'm 5'6", 130lb, 31" chest, but with hips 37" hips, so I got the small, otherwise the coat would be too snug in the hips, especially with snow pants.
Only negative I have is the collar. When it's fully zipped, it scratches the chin. The collar where the zipper meets, needs more of a protective, soft flap.
Otherwise, a great coat.

Perfect Coat for Cold Weather

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I love this coat. The fabric is so soft and drapes well. This makes the collar and hood wrap around your face for protection. It has great pockets to hold your stuff. It is very warm and the size is right on. I love the bright color for visibility on the hill.

Great buy, solid construction

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

5'6" 125 and the medium fit very well. Got the blue with green zippers. The color is as shown on the site. The outter material to the shell is very durable and would have no problem busting through tree branches while riding without a scratch. It is very warm, held up well to 5deg windchill the other day and I was very warm. Nice buy!

Very happy

  • Fit: True to size

This is a beautiful jacket. Not only is it lovely and soft when you first pick it up, but the high quality of workmanship and materials are instantly evident. I bought the purple colour and the colour is true to the photo on this website - very attractive indeed! Can't wait to break it out on the slopes soon!

I have 2 Marmot jackets. a trail wind hoody size S and a Speed light M. both fit perfectly. which size should I have for the Dawn Patrol. thanks. sandra

Design wise this jacket will have similar measurements to the Trail Wind, the Speed Jacket is an athletic cut and even though the Speed Light is a longer jacket it will also be more narrow.

I bought this for my 13 year old daughter, and she loves it. It's an absolutely beautiful jacket, well made with high quality materials. She'll be wearing it for years to come.
